Sadie Hawkins Dance help, please...

I am advising our Sadie's dance on Friday and we are going to conduct wedding ceremonies...Does any one know of any country bumpkin type vows? I am just not finding anything, and my brain is on overload with all of the other planning of this dance, teaching every day, trying to grade papers and most importantly, trying to be my kid's mom!!!! Yes, I am beginning to go bonkers... Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!

"Jumping the broom" is a slave tradition, not a country tradition so it might not be what you are looking for. Slaves were not allowed to get married so they performed their own ceremonies. They would jump over a broom and that would signify their union (sort of like breaking the glass at a Jewish ceremony).

I'm a born and bred Northerner so I'm afraid I can't help you with what you are looking for. Good luck though...sounds like a fun night!

Well, what I would do, is go to a regular wedding vows site and get some samples of some real vows. Then, do a search for "redneck wedding" and substitute some of the funnier terms in.
