Saddam vs. Hitler

The further along that this war moves and the more information that is released, the more I see some very close similarities between Adolf Hitler and Saddam Hussein! Think about. Hitler killed many citizens of his country based on their religion, Hussein gases 10's of thousand of his citizens because they are of kurdish descent. Hitler had the SS, Hussein has the Republican Guard. Hilter had the Secret Police, Hussein the Fadyheen Saddam. Hitler's engineers created a missle that was capable of reaching England and unleashed a "blitzkreig" over England, Hussein's chemists created sarin, VX gas, scud missles and other weapons of mass destruction.

I hate hearing people use the argument that this was solely about weapons of mass destruction or oil. Hussein was a brutal dictator that needed to be removed. Too many countries have turned a blind eye towards this jerk for the past 12 years, meanwhile his citizens have suffered horribly and paid dearly.

The only real significant differences between Hitler/Stalin and Saddam are differences of scale.

You got it, galahad! And even that may eventually be debatable, as we find out more info about saddam's reign throught he years. I mean, will we ever be able to quantify exactly how many people he and his regime(including his sons) actually executed?

I agree with the similarities. And an article posted today about children freed from prison, children in prison because they would not join Saddam's Baath party, reminds me an awful lot of the Hitler Youth.
