I was half listening to The View, but Meredith Viera said something about a report that Saddam's sons MAY have been captured.

Anyone hear this?

Special report on now...4 high ranking officials dead...could be the sons.

The news bulletin just broke in on the channel I was watching. The are not confirming it is the sons just yet, but they believe it may be them.

Thanks for the link, Dan. I keep Dave informed at work with info I find on the DIS. ;)

I personally never pray for any man's death. We've lost 232 brave American men and women in Iraq; thousands of Iraqis, many of them civilians, have also died in the conflict. If Saddam or his sons are killed in a firefight, I won't shed any tears. However, I don't feel that we have the right to employ summary execution......

Actually, Silky, I posted that there were reports of their capture first; judging from the timing of the posts, Dan was responding to THAT post, not my second post stating there were reports of their death.

Yes, I do pray that evil, vicious, murderers of innocent people are no longer able to carry on with their filthy evil deeds...however that result is achieved.

Wow, talk about jumping to conclusions....

If the house was surrounded, I would expect that the occupants would have been given a chance to surrender. Perhaps they opened fire when they spotted our troops. We'll certainly find out soon.

MaryAnn, if we condone assassination of the Iraqi hierarchy, however despicable they may be, then we're lowering ourselves to the level of the killers who keep picking off our troops daily....

Perhaps they opened fire when they spotted our troops.

Which means that they gave up any right to surrender peacefully.

I find it rather odd that in one post, you are dripping with concern for our troops, and in another post on the same thread, you imply that our troops should sit back and be shot at without returning fire.

Really EROS er, Silky, the insincere and sarcastic expressions of concern for our troops is so transparent...

Who said anything about assassinations???

Granted, I only just turned on the TV, but I have yet to hear that word used in regard to this breaking news story?

Has anyone else besides Silky heard this word used in the news reports? What channel are you watching, Silky? I want to turn that one on, because it's obviously got better info...

CORRECT.......

Oh here we go again - the tired "lowering ourselves to their level" garbage.

What do you think was the purpose of the big bombs on the opening night of the war? To shake them up a little and make them turn themselves in?

They are legitimate military targets.

Thank you for your thoughtful comment.......

I respect Silky and AFR's rights to debate. It's what all those brave boys are fighting about. That said....

I think I can speak for the majority of the CB when I say "take it to the debate board." Or else I'm going to go over there and start handing out pixie dust and hugs until everyone pukes.

As for Uday and Quasi, regardless of how they made it to the Pearly Gates, they're due some judgement. Bet they don't make it inside.

I'm sorry I must have missed it - is there a rule somewhere that says everyone on the CB has to agree about everything?

I thought it was a big no-no to mention a banned DISer?

I know I've had my posts deleted in the past when I've brought up a banned DISer......
