My husband just shocked me and said if I wanted to stay at Wilderness Lodge to go ahead and change our reservation. :earseek: I can't believe it!! What would you do? Is it worth the extra money? What are the chances of getting a partial view of the castle from your balcony? I'm stunned he would make such an offer. I'm thinking I should take him up on it because it will be easier to talk him into subsequent trips saying, "We'll stay moderate to save money!" ;)

So sell me on one resort or the other!!

UPDATE: No AAA rates for our stay.... my dreams of a deluxe are dashed...

you'll LOVE the Lodge! this Aug will be our 3rd stay there
we stayed 2nights at CB after our 6nights at WL this past Oct
DS13 wants to return to the Lodge

wilderness lodge - definately -

the caribbean is nice - but there's a food court - where wl has two great resturants - and a nice snack bar

cbr has a nice pool and play area - but the atmosphere of the wl with the beach and the "stream" is relaxing

you'll won't be able to see the park from the room - but again the "woodsy" atmosphere is a whole other world from the fast past moderates

Definately the Lodge! We've stayed at both, and there's really no comparison.

I think I'm going to be the only dissenter when I say stick with the CB. The WL is positively lovely, and everyone does rave about it, but the CB I think is equally as nice. I suppose the WL reminds me of a hunting lodge and I LOVE those, but not at Disney. Plus the food court at the CB is a plus. Cheaper and Quicker meals that way! :) Plus, if you save money on this trip you might be able to return sooner!

wl -
renting mouse boats
a boat trip to mk
nice walking trail
couldn't get dh to stay anywhere else!

WL is our favorite resort!! We like it so much we bought DVC points there!! We also like to try new resorts, and CBR is fun too, but I've had really bad luck with parking there in that our room always seems miles and miles away!!
We don't have the problem at WL, although we have had rooms that were tough to get to!
WL was also the first place we stayed onsite. It's so homey in the lobby, and the staff is great there! I think it's totally worth it, at least once!!

Go for the lodge!!!! I would for the right next to the MK. CBR is huge.

WL

We have stayed at both. I like the convinience of everything at WL. Within walking distance. Our only stay at CBR seemed so far removed from the pool, the HH, the restaurants. Dont get me wrong, CBR is a nice place, reminds me of a moderate version of OKW, which I like.

I say take DH up on it before he changes his mind!

I will say the WL too!!! CBR used to be our "home away from home" until we started staying at the WL. :rotfl: I don't think there is any question as to which one to choose! WL is a Magic Kingdom Hotel therefore you get a nicer room, better location and I think...better service. We have had excellent service at the WL, not that we didn't at CBR but it was better. Go with the WL!!!

Before last October, I would have said "Stay at CBR, it's the best resort at WDW!!" My family loved it so much that we wouldn't even consider another resort, until last fall that is. While we were planning our trip to CBR last fall, we received one of those "e-mail code deals" straight from Disney. Upon realizing that by using this code, we could stay at the WL for cheaper than we had originally booked the CBR, my husband decided for us that we couldn't pass up that kind of a deal. I have to admit, I was a bit nervous, because we all loved the CBR so much, that I was afraid we would be disappointed with the WL (I know, I know. Looking back now that sounds completely absurd!!!) Anyway, we spent 9 nights at the WL during that trip and I can honestly say - WOW!! As much as I like CBR, the WL just completely blew me away! Now don't get me wrong, I still love CBR, but if you have the chance - GO FOR WL!!! YOU WON'T REGRET IT!!!!! (JMHO!)

If you like to walk, stay at CBR. If you'll enjoy amazing theming, great location near the MK, and a more compact resort, go with WL. We've stayed at both, and WL wins hands down.

I was just a CBR for 10 nights Feb 25-March 7 and thought it was a nice resort. Some of the rooms are 5-10 minute walk to port royal (food area), but you can take inter resort transporation.

Pick the Wilderness Lodge. You won't be disappointed. I like the fact that everything within the Lodge is close by. Not a lot of walking. The boat ride to MK is nice and relaxing. The atmoshpere is fantastic. I've tried to talk DH and DD's into trying another resort but always get voted down. We won't stay anywhere else. It's a magical place. I'm sure you will love it.

 I'm sorry WL did not work out. Keep checking back though...maybe someone will cancel?

Also, CBR is very nice. I have not stayed there but I have stayed at a couple of the other moderates and really, IMO, any Disney hotel is better than no Disney hotel.

plus now you have a good excuse to go back sometime...;)

Thanks guys! I know we will love CBR... I loved the Bahamas in 2002 when I went and the rooms are the same size as WL so space will be the same.... I think I will call my agent and see if we can change to preferred location.... And yes this means we will have to go back... :confused3 What can ya do?? Gotta try all the resorts ( I WISH! :genie: )
