We had built up too much of a debt load. About a year and half ago we started working hard on bringing down the debt. Things were going ok. Interest rates went up, and I took a temporary 5% cut in pay. Between both of those factors, we were back on the bubble. The decision to sell DVC was tough only in that we love Disney.
That said, our debt was self inflicted. We were living beyond our means. Today, we pay strictly by cash, and only get something when we save for it.
We bought this timeshare for cash through The Timeshare Store, and they sold it for us. The Timeshare Store did a great job of selling it for us in a short period of time. When things are all paid off, we will evaluate whether to buy back in or not. I am confident that we would work with The Timeshare Store at that time.
Thanks everyone for the nice comments.
Difficult words to admit, even more difficult to write. I wish good things for you, mostly, financial security.

But I have a feeling you will have no problems in the future.
