Sad news

The baby birds were trying to fly out of the nest today and MY CAT got ahold of all but 1. We were out shopping at the nursery and when we got home my neighbors kids came running over with the news. My neighbor got 2 and put them back in the nest but they kept jumping out and eventually Cleo got them. I'm really sad. I didn't realize that they would be trying to fly already. And I would have never thought to keep the kitty inside for a couple of days. I hope the mama lays more eggs and this time I can really make sure bad-kitty is indoors!

I'm sorry too.

We have an outdoor kitty that gets birds and mice and even rabbits. We told him to leave the birds and rabbits alone -- but have fun with the mice!

He doesn't always listen to us.

Tulirose: she's been leaving little presents (voles & mice) on the back deck lately. Maybe she's trying to make up for BEING BAD!

That reminds me of the first house we lived in. Our neighbour had a cat that used to leave little gifts on our back step. Feet, little mouse feet....and only the feet!!!

Snowwark: only feet??? That's gross! Cleo left another vole on the back porch today. GOOD KITTY!
