I just got home from the vet. I found out my cat has cancer and I'm going to have to put him to sleep. I'm so devastated. What do I tell my two year old? I really don't know what to tell her. I have my skin cancer surgery tomorrow. I'm completely overwhelmed, and just needed to share with my DIS friends.

My condolences to you. There is AN excellent book for children, by Mr. Rogers of all people, called When a Pet Dies, I believe. Thankfully, your DD will not be nearly old enough to comprehend what is really going on, but just keep it simple for her.
