 My Christmas spending is now on hold!! My husband might not have a job after next week. I am so upset!! Thankfully I have some mad money stashed away that I can use for my DD13. Just when you think everything is going well. I hope we know something by Black Friday. His job has been very up and down for a while, but we thought things were looking better. At least I have a stable job. We will just have to be more budget minded than normal. I have kind of loosened my belt the last couple of years, I guess it is time to tighten back up. I am so bummed! :sad1: Thankfully we have weathered these storms before, so I know we will get through this if it happens. Thanks everyone for letting me share!

Sorry your going thru such a rough time right now. I hope that he doesnt lose his job and that you know for sure soon. Sometimes I think that NOT knowing what is going to happen is almost as bad as knowing that your losing your employment.

Keep positive! We were in the same boat and thankfully DH got a new job after 'only' 2 months.

Been there - is this exact same situation only I was 5 months pregnant in what turned out to be a very hard pregnancy.

It all worked out - just stay positive and be thankful that you only have to tighten your spending. I had trouble in the beginning because I just couldn't believe it was happening to us....but in the end I learning alot from the experience.

I'm trying to figure out what do, too? We will have about $80. left over after paying rent and water. So, I think the kid will get a Music CD she wants. Then I'll hit either the Dollar store, for calanders or a nice thrift store I know for any treasures!

I know how you are feeling. DH just lost his job 2 weeks ago and it will be our first Christmas with DD. I want it to be special and am worried about money more than ever. I have my fingers crossed every day that he finds something. All the best to you :goodvibes

:grouphug: I am sorry, it is a scary situation to be in. I lost my job about 18 months ago and cannot find a thing. I have even applied for numerous seasonal positions to no avail. DH took a huge pay cut this year but is thankful to have a job although the future of his Company is unknown at this time.

I will have to cut way back this Christmas and it breaks my heart. I do not buy alot for my kids thru out the year but in the past I have always gone overboard with Christmas gifts just because I love it so much!!! My kids are older and they understand the situation, it is me that is having a hard time with it.

Stay positive OP (easier said than done, I know). Although I am still waiting on the answer (LOL) I do believe things happen for a reason. Perhaps there is a better opportunity out there waiting for your husband. Enjoy the Holidays and God Bless.

Thanks everyone for all your support! No, word yet. But like someone said the waiting is sometimes worse than knowing. I have decided to proceed with caution and only spend half of what I was planning and putting the rest in savings. Hopefully, everything will work out. I feel a lot better about it today. God always opens a window when he shuts a door.;) Plus, my husband isn't really that happy with his job, although very thankful to have one. I will buy my DD13 things she will need like socks (fun colorful ones) etc... Thankfully she is old enough to understand. We will still have a nice Christmas. It isn't about gifts, it is about time together. We will stay up late those two weeks out of school and play games, bake from scratch . We don't usually have time for that with our busy schedules. Good luck to everyone else who is in the same boat!!:grouphug:
