First, I want to say thanks to Forever42 for another great review-this time of the new buffet at El Pirata y el Perico. As good as it sounds, I hope it is only temporary. As counter service, DW would order a very good taco salad (under $6) & I would get the yummy 2-tacos ($5). We would also share a large soda ($2.50). Topping off one of our favorite meals would be a stop at Aloha Isle for Pineapple Floats ($3 each). We were able to fill up on very tasty, out of the ordinary (at WDW) meals for under $20 for the two of us. Just my opinion, but I sure would like to have that meal again when we go back next year!

BadgerBruce,

I'm with you on this one! I was REALLY looking forward to the taco salad on our upcoming mini-trip. I guess there's a chance I may still get it but I'm wondering if it will be the last time.

I am glad to hear this new option is at least good though.

I believe Forever42 said that this was a trial run until Oct 5. I too was looking forward to the old menu.

I guess I'm out of the loop on this one. I'll have to read the reviews about the new buffet. I'm another who will miss those taco salads!

It's weird to me that anyone remembers this old restaurant enough to miss it. Out of all the times I've been to WDW (about 37-38 since I was 9 months old) I've never seen this place actually open!

I was just going to post the exact same thing....... and I go 5-8 times/year!

Me either. I go every May and October and the place is always closed down. I'm glad they are finally doing something with it. We will be there next week and will finally get to see the inside of the place! LOL!
