Sacrelig! After 5 on-site stays, I'm considering Caribe Royale!

I have reservations for the Dolphin Nov. 23 through Dec. 2 at $165/night, but must admit I am intrigued by the $129 1-bedroom suite offered at Caribe Royale. Switching would mean a savings of $324 with sleeping space for our family of 5 and a kitchenette. I've read good things, BUT what's the catch?

Would I find myself dreading the hassle of transportation issues? How bad is it getting to and from the parks? Is it a noisy place? Is it worth the savings or am I better off staying with the Dolphin (we've stayed there 5 times already and know exactly what we are getting.)

Thanks for your help!

Room is 'nice' pool is OKAY but tends to get CROWDED. usually full of conventioners 9i was one when i went in 04) and transportation was H*LL! hahaha they just had too many stops and were never on time. after 2 days we gave up and took cabs :)

As far as noise, it's not bad at all! actually i was the 3rd person and offered to take the couch in the 'living room' and never heard a peep :)

I hope I am not getting off the subject or prying here, but have you considered trying an off site condo/house? It will save you enough money to rent a car. Try VRBO.com and look in windsor hills, windsor palms, or emrald Isle. Check availability of the unit for your dates. Make an offer for what you want to pay and see how it goes. I own a couple units further away and I make deals all the time just to get the unit filled. I had a great relationship with one of the owners at Windsor Palms and I used to get a 3br 2ba for $60 per night with a washer and dryer, and it was 5 mins to Disney property. With VRBO you deal directly with the owner, not a management company so they can work with you where the managed places stick to their pricees.

I loved the Caribe- however when we went there was a firefighters convention and they were so loud and took over the pool!!! It is a nice hotel though and transportation is good- a bus takes you everywhere. The rooms are nice and big and always cleaned. The only issue we had was overcrowding.
