We are planning a trip to DL during Easter Break 2006. My mom and extended family live in Sacramento so me and the kids plan to fly to Sac. the thursday before Easter and then drive down to DL. I would like to know what are the highlights that we should see/do. My kids are 8(boy) & 9(girl) and then my mom and me. We plan to spend 4 days at DL and have ressies for DLH for Monday after Easter through Friday. The kids and I would fly out of Sac. on Sat evening (sat. after Easter) hopefully on redeye. I do not want to spend Saturday driving back to Sac. because I would like to spend some time with relatives, so would need to drive back to Sacramento on Friday. I would like to go to Seaworld (have free tickets), Legoland???, What Else???. This may be a once in a lifetime trip so I want the kids to experience as much as possible. A little background info - we live in Virginia near beach, we have been to WDW before, will probably go back to Orlando for Universal. What do you recommend we do/see? Where should we spend Easter? (Disneyland?) Does any park do anything special for Easter Sunday?

I hear that for young children, Legoland is really great. Lot's of travel to San Diego but worth it for the Zoo or SeaWorld. Sounds like you will have a lot to do with the limited time that you have down there.

If you do Legoland, do it before DL. After several days at DL in 2002, our kids were bored with Legoland and did NOT like to have to stand in 45-75 minute lines (this was in November). Just my opinion of course, or older kids, definately worth it to do Universal (coupons in the Entertainment Books). IF you have free Sea World tickets... try it, the shows are fun! Plan on at least 3 days for DL and DCA though. You can easily do it in less time, but this way you can do everything in the parks that you want to at least once, do the really fun stuff more than once, and even see some of the shows (Aladin is great). The weather is wonderful around Easter, and the crowds are busy, but not summer crazy busy (not everyone gets the same time off for Easter in CA with all of our year round schools).
