SAB in the summer?

Just how crowded does Storm Along Bay at the BC get during the day the last week of Aug? Anyone been there during this time?

We've been there in July and August and SAB is so large that it never seems overcrowded to me. They have tons of loungers and even a "deck" with loungers and tables over the poolside gift shop. The only place that gets crowded is the line for the pool slide.

We were there this past Aug .. Last week of Aug was busy but never really crazy crowded but we did get chairs upstairs on the sun deck never did really ever get chairs right by the pool by 10 AM they were always gone ... we were 5 with three teens so we were not really too concerned with being right at the pool side !

We were there the end of July this year and never found it got overcrowded. Its very spread out and there are a lot different places to find chairs. Its really as wonderful as everyone says it is, too!

We're heading back for 8 days...this is our 6th summer in a row.

We've never had a problem getting a chair. Now loungers, on the other hand, have been scarce at times.

Hi Desnik! We've stayed at BC many times, over many different seasons. Our most recent stay at BC was the last week of August 2011. (Our other BC stays have covered the months of January, February, March and July.) We spent the greater portion of a late August afternoon at SAB and I can tell you that the pool itself was completely uncrowded. It's a large pool, so no particular area is crowded. The vast majority of the photos in this thread are from our August 2011 trip, so it gives you an idea of how uncrowded it really was: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2790323. As you can see from my signature, we've stayed at many different WDW resorts, and I actually regard SAB as one of the least crowded pools at WDW.

Here's the disclaimer: We don't use lounge chairs - our entire family is in the pool. We're a family of five, but all we need is one chair as a "home base" for our stuff. So I don't pay much attention to the lounger situation. So loungers may be different, but in the pool itself, it's entirely comfortable.

Thank you so much! Your pictures are great and exactly what I needed! We have stayed at BCV before, but it was in Jan & I didn't go to the pool at all. DH went withthe kids on 1 day and they didn't like the sand area at the times and came back to the room, lol. That was a few years ago. Anyway, I hope they will like it better in the summer! Our kids will be 14 & 9 when we go.

I'm so excited, I just booked our first 2 nights at BCV for our end of Aug stay! The following 6 nights will be at BLT!! Those first 2 nights will be spent relaxing and enjoying SAB! Now if only 7 months could fly by!
