Hi Folks!! Been reading here for quite sometime and decided you could help me out, because as you can see by the name of my thread..... I have alot of questions!!!!:rotfl2:

1. I think I received a code via e-mail. Is it the only one I will get for this year??? I think it is 20% - is there a possability I could get a 40%??

2. Poly or POR??? why??

3. Book online, telephone or TA????

4. KingdomKonsultant??? Good???? Why???

5. Dining... If I use the code for the room can I still get free dining in September???

6. Weather in the last part of September???

7. Do we really need a water park pass with such good pools????

8. Other good ways to save $$$$$$

Thank you all in advance for your responses!!! I do appreciate it!!!!:thumbsup2

I'm ready to beat my head against the wall with all these decisions!!! lol.

Btw... DH, DD8, and myself...... First trip to WDW......:goodvibes

:
We got an email code as well, and my understanding (from cruising the boards) is that they can be very rare creatures. Apparently it's pixie dust and you may never see one again. We got what at first glance appeared to be 40% off room at moderates only. When we checked with our TA, it applied to deluxe as well. We weren't going to go this year, but how can you pass up pixie dust?

2. Poly or POR??? why??
:
POR is nice, but I would think if $ was right, Poly, just for the monorail convenience.

5. Dining... If I use the code for the room can I still get free dining in September???
:

My understanding, again from checking the boards, is that you can only use one code per ressie. So no, I don't believe you can do a discount on the room AND get free dining. I think you need to pay rack rate for free dining.

1. No, thats more than likely the only code you will get. Most people don't even get one.

2. That has to be up to you. Take into account how much you want to spend, and what kind of theming you are looking for. Check out the POR and Poly threads and then decide. Check out pictures, read what people say, etc. The Poly also gets you quicker transportation to MK.

3. If you book online you cannot make payments over the phone. If you book through a TA, you cannot change anything yourself, the TA has to do it. There are no drawbacks to booking yourself over the phone, except for it being a long distance call, but if you have a cell phone its no big deal.

4. I'm sure they are a fine TA, but I wouldn't use a TA just in case you wanted to make a chance or add something yourself.

5. You cannot combine offers. You can still get the Magic Your Way plus Dining package, but you can't combine free dining and a room only discount. The MYW plus Dining runs $37.99 a day for an adult.

6. Late September weather is typically around 75-80 with pretty high humidity. It will probably rain in the afternoon daily, as it does all summer. Also, there is the chance you will be effected by a tropical system (hurricane)

7. The pools (excluding Stormalong Bay, which basically is a mini water park) are very good, yes, but they can't be compared to one of the water parks. The slides, wave pool, lazy rivers, etc etc etc are all wonderful if you like water parks. If you just want to jump in to cool off for 5 minutes and don't care about slides or anything like that, then I guess the pools might be enough.

8. Save money? Well, first let me go back to the POR vs Poly choice. The biggest way to save money would be to stay at POR and not Poly. Other ways: don't buy your daily X. Whatever the X is, almost everyone has something they get daily. Coffee, cigarettes, donuts, whatever. You can still have them, (not the cigarettes), just buy them from a supermarket in a package, not from Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts.

If you are really worried about the decisions, you can pick up a guidebook (I recommend the Passporter) and look through it. Tons of great tips on what to do while planning. Just don't fret over it. Don't worry about planning out every little detail. Just get the reservations, pick out a couple places you'd like to eat, and make a basic plan on what you'd want to do each day.

The very first thing you need to realize is this: It is impossible to see everything. It just can't be done. Do everything you want to do, sure, but not everything there is to do. Treat it like a vacation, not a mini boot camp, and you'll be just fine.

Hi :welcome: to the DIS! I would suggest that you maybe post your questions seperately so you can get more focused responces:goodvibes

As far as booking w/a code if you want to switch to free dining(if and when its announced) you loose the code pay rack(value season) rate for the room and you get ddp free.

POR is a mod
Poly is a deluxe, so it kind of depends on what your looking for how much $$ you want to spend ect. check out http://www.allears.net/acc/faq_hot.htm for pics and reviews of the resorts.

for good ways to save $$ check out the budget boards section:)

stick around the dis and you will get lots of good tips and advice.
Good luck and happy planning:yay:

Welcome to the DIS. You may get more answers if you break down your questions and have more information in the title.

3. If you book online you cannot make payments over the phone.

Actually you can. I always make my res online and then pay the rest in increments over the phone.

1. I think I received a code via e-mail. Is it the only one I will get for this year??? I think it is 20% - is there a possability I could get a 40%??

It is possible, but not likely. Some people have gotten both, but that is very rare. There are other codes coming out now though so keep looking if you don't like the one you have. If you book for 20% and then receive a 40%, you can call and change it.

2. Poly or POR??? why??

POR because atmosphere is everything!! The mansions are just awesome!!! There is so much to do there and you can take the boat to DTD to spend some time there or have dinner too. Plus, you are looking to save money and it is totally worth it!!

3. Book online, telephone or TA????

If you want to use a code, get the best deal, etc, I would book by phone. Online is ok, but not like booking by phone. I've never used a TA because I want to know what's going on. I like having control over my reservations.

4. KingdomKonsultant??? Good???? Why???

Can't tell you.... never used them.

5. Dining... If I use the code for the room can I still get free dining in September???

No, it's one or the other. I would call and see what rate you get with your code. You can compare with the standard rate in September and see if you will be saving more with dining or with the code.

6. Weather in the last part of September???

September is still pretty hot, but not as bad as August. There will be some rains, but they should be short bursts.

7. Do we really need a water park pass with such good pools????

WDW waterparks are way over the top. Once you've been to them, no other waterpark will ever match up. TL is our favorite because the crowds are usually in line for the slides at BB. The wait times there are outrageous!

8. Other good ways to save $$$$$$

If you will be driving, take items you would normally purchase in the convenience stores like snacks, quick breakfast foods, drinks, etc. This will save you a ton! Give yourself a budget for souviniers. Shop around and find exactly what you want before buying.

Thank you all in advance for your responses!!! I do appreciate it!!!!:thumbsup2

I'm ready to beat my head against the wall with all these decisions!!! lol.

Btw... DH, DD8, and myself...... First trip to WDW......:goodvibes [/QUOTE] Congratulations on your trip!!! You will have so much fun and planning is a lot of the fun.

Thank you all very much for your welcome wishes and responses! I sure did not mean to sound ungrateful, pixie-dusted, blessed, etc.... when I mentioned the code that we DID receive. I am thankful for any and all offers!!!

Thanks again for your feedback and you will probablly see alot of 1 subject items from me....:rotfl: Can't wait to read and learn more from all you 'pros'. Thanks!!!!:flower3:

I know what you mean Noahdove..... Did you recently request the DVD vacation planner??? I think thats how I might have received one.....

What are the dates you are thinking of going? Free dining (if offered) IMHO would probably be a better value than the 20% so you could book w/ the 20% and watch and wait for free dining. Free Dining is usually end of AUG through Sept.
