S/P/D Question

So, I already have a reservation for Jan 17-24. Obviously, I can't get through on the phone just like everyone else. If I just book another package online with the discount, can I transfer my dining reservations from my original reservation or will I lose them when I cancel the original resort reservation? Any help is appreciated!

Your dining reservations will be fine, you won't lose them. They are tied to your Disney account, not your reservation.

At least that's what the CM I just spoke with told me.

Thank you very much! I just made another reservation, and I will cancel my original reservation once the madness calms down!

Your dining reservations will remain there. Anyone can make dining reservations so they won't go away because of your package. I already had a RO booked at POR, and this morning it was taking too long on the phone to get through so I booked the S/P/D deal online, and then called to cancel the original reservation. I think people are starting to get through on the phones easier now.
