I'm planning next year's vacation and would like to know where you can purchase an annual pass. The reason for purchasing one is to use it to get savings on the Disney resorts. We would like to stay 12 nights(6 @ AKL and 6 @ BCR) We will definitely need the discounts!!! Anyone know of other ways to save on the resorts besides getting the AP rate?

Also, the evening magic hours-do you have to go to a park earlier in the day in order to use the evening magic hour that same night and does it have to be the same park you visited earlier that day? Or can our family enjoy the day at DQ and then later that evening, take advantage of EMH in whatever park is scheduled that night?
Also, I've heard negative comments in that the Evening magic hour is crowded. What are the wait times normally? Any other comments and is it worth doing? Also, how often does the EMH change. We won't be going till next summer but I'm trying to get some type of schedule together. I'm a planner!! Thank you to all who respond!

Disney offers AAA discounts & FL resident discounts. They also have some where there is a pin number next to your last name. I wouldn't purchase an AP with the thought of getting an AP rate discount (sole reason for getting the AP). It is not a a for sure thing! Yes, Disney has usually had AP discounts, but it states that they can change the AP benefits at any time.
As far as the extended hours, you do not need to enter the park early in the day. You can go at any time during the extended time & show your room key (one for each person entering with you) at the turnstiles and they will let you in. If you are in the park prior to the general closing, you can get the wristband ahead of time in the park (usually 2 or 3 hours prior to general closing time). Personally, I don't think the night hours are worth it. It was very crowed each time I went (did MGM & MK's). I like the early morning entry better...less crowded!

True and AP rates are already making a big change this year, by having to book online more than 120 days out, putting out a non-refundable deposit and other things.

It sure is great but the discounts are less this year than in the past. If you are considering it for savings on park admission then that would be a good move.

What other discounts or benefits do you get by purchasing an AP? And other than AAA or an AP, is there any other way to get discounts on hotels? Thanks in advance.
