Why are bras with small band but large cup sizes either hard to find or expensive?

Why can't jeans come in standard waist, hip, and inseam sizes?

If it makes you feel any better, the opposite is also true. It is nearly impossible to find a larger banded bra that is not at least a DD.

I might be onboard with the standard jean sizing, as long as I didn't have to wear it advertised on my waist like a guy.

1. Because there aren't that many of us. Mail order is your friend in this case. I lurve me some Frederick's of Hollywood mail order for comfy bras that last forever and are made for my size.

2. They used to, once, long ago. Then came Vanity Sizing.

Well, for #1 a small banded bra does not offer proper support for a large cup so most manufacturers don't make them.

Number 2, I agree, standard clothing sizes for ALL clothing would be nice.

You're right. It goes with the whole problem of finding sizes that are a little removed from the norm.

Those tags could always be taken off.

I have always had a hard time finding clothing to fit my chest. Bras I'm ok with but everything else is either "How you doin:cool2:" or matronly tarp like cut that makes me look as big on the bottom as I am on top... Not a good look for anyone. I'd like some middle ground that didn't distract men like moths to the flame please.

Yep, I have that problem, more so when I was heavier.

I love the current layering for exactly this reason! I can tuck a tee or a camisole under almost anything these days! ;)

I know what you mean about the bras. I wear a 32D and it isn't impossible to find, but not easy either. I usually end up buying them at Nordstrom because they are the only place that I can count on having my size. They are pricey there though.

Okay, here's my gripe.

There has GOT to be a better way to transition clothing from girls to womens.
(Can you tell I have a 13yo??? :headache:)

Absolutely NOTHING fits right or has standard sizing. We have bought clothes from the size 16 girls up to size 8 in misses, she even has a tankini from the women's section size Large. It's crazy. There is no consistency at all!!!! :confused3
It takes For-freakin-ever to find clothes for this kid. AHHHH!!! :crazy2:

And the shoes for a 13yo??? She wears a woman's size 8.5 (yeah, in this family our feet grow first!) and all the pretty dress shoes have four inch stilleto heels. GRRRR!

I used to like clothes shopping, but this is actual work.

I share your pain. DD12 is 5'5" with size 9 feet and can still wear some 16 girls tops, but most things are now from junior's stores. We start with a medium but have bought smalls and larges too.

Jeans are a whole 'nother PITA. She is not a size 00 with the toothpick legs, she has curves already. And I require that the waistband of the jeans actually come up over the top of her bikini undies. getting cute jeans that fit without spending a fortune is not easy.

I have a normal size bra size. Not small, not big. I would love some big, comfy straps. Mine are somewhat narrow and dig into my shoulders; however, I noticed on the DD size bras, they have some good straps on them. I agree that I wouldn't want ALL my bras like that, but one would be nice.

DD15 sounds like she is the same size/build. The "skinny" jeans are really not the greatest look on most kids. She needs a size 3 in "non-skinny" jeans but has to go up to a 5 and wear a belt in the "skinny" jeans. This does eliminate the undies hanging out the back issue though. She gets most of her jeans at Aeropostile or Am Eagle-just not the really low cut ones. I have tried to get her to look in the misses department for jeans as they would fit her figure much better, but what do I know :lmao:. She gets mostly small tops and they fit her just right. She is very slender but she is muscular.

Why are so many women's tee shirts too short? You end up pulling them down all the time. Now men's tee shirts are the right length.

I'll have to give that a try. It looks like something I'd like. I'm the same size too. Right now, I have only been able to wear Maidenform. I am very broad shouldered and in most brands, the cups are too close together for me. Lifelong problem and my daughter has the same problem too.

Same problem. I have had good luck with Vanity Fair in the past for that reason as well. I really like these Olga bras because the band and straps are lined with a soft cotton. They are SUPER comfortable.
