S/O Coronavirus School Closing considered in your area?

Local school district is doing digital learning days next week. But they are making the staff come to school unlike the prior digital learning days that coincided with snow.

Not sure how the staff will be better able to respond to kids questions while sitting in an empty classroom vs at home. My wife is a paraprofessional and will have no responsibility for the digital learning. I guess she will sit in the classroom for 8 hours a day next week staring at the walls.

DDs elementary district will close until April 13th. High School district until April 3. DD already does all work online. Both in classwork and HW is done on a Chromebook which each kid gets at the beginning of the year.

Philadelphia Public Schools are closed for two weeks.

I live in South Jersey about 5 minutes away. I expect our schools will close too. I work for a major hospital in NJ and we've been getting emails all week to prepare for childcare as if it were a snow storm. We are expected to come to work and I work in an outpatient setting.

DS's college (Rowan) extended spring break a week with 3/30 being their return date. They are going to all online classes on 3/30 but dorms and dining halls will remain open. He's home right now since spring break starts this weekend and is unsure if he'll go back to the dorms on 3/30.

Gov Edwards just announced that all public schools in Louisiana will close until 4/13. Kids will do assignments at home.

Schools in Northern Virginia are now closed through the middle of April, and will resume after the previously scheduled Spring Breaks (right around Easter).

School is closed in my district until April 20 which would’ve been the day they returned after spring break. They are doing online learning. The department of health closed our county schools. We only have one case. The governor is expected to close all NJ schools soon.

All schools in Rhode Island closed next week. They're using this as their spring break instead of taking the week in April, but I think they're using next week to prep for online learning. I expect they'll be closed for a couple weeks.

2 weeks for all public schools in Virginia. DD received a fat packet of work, plus stuff on the Ipad. There are so many parents who don't really have the ability to have a financial cushion. I have been thinking about them all day.

DS(9) teacher sent him home with an “incase of school closure” packet with work sheets for him to work on while home also set up a way for us to communicate while home from school to continue his learning.

DD is in 8th grade so they’ll do online learning. Teachers will be available remotely from home during school hours to assist children.

They also have a food drop off plan for children that receive free or reduced lunch.

Oneida & Herkimer counties in NY are close until the 14th. We had our spring break in there so it’s only technically 3 weeks off.

Today we got the notice that Schools will be closed next Week.
It'll be counted as Spring Break.
