What is Sorin Over Ca going to be about. Is it like a dark ride thru? Or is it another simuilator

It is a simulutor, of sorts, but unlike any other simulator at WDW. You will be loaded into a "theater" in front of an IMAX/OmniMAX screen. Be sure to belt yourself in.

A rush of air and you "Take Off"...the "theater" moves forward and up, so that the row of seats that was in front of you, is now above you. Your row of seats is suspended from overhead, it moves, banks, and emits frangrances in perfect sync with the huge screen in front of you. It feels as if you are seated in an ultralight or hang glider, as you glide over the natural beauty of California from the mountains to the coastline.

As a rule, I'm not overly excited by simulators anymore, but Soarin' is different. The feeling of flight is quite realistic and the wind and smells heighten the illusion. Its really a great attraction. Its not the very best thing Disney has ever built, but its still a first rate attraction and something no one else has.

It works by suspenging over an inverted Omnimax screen (like the kind that used to be in Horizons, only flipped over). All you can see as you look down is the screen (and sometimes the feet of the people in the row in front of you). The illusion of flight is very convincing and the scenery is beautiful.

I went on Soar'in for the first time a couple years ago and I didn't know what to expect only that other people told me that it was a great ride. All I can say is that it took my breath away. My hat off to the Imagineers.

My advice for first timers (if you don't have a fear of heights) is to do what you can to get into row #1, so you're up front. In rows #2 & #3, you can see the dangling feet of the rows ahead of you. And though this really doesn't decrease the sensation of the flight, it does affect the 'wow' factor. This is because as it was explained earlier as the 'theater' takes off, row #1 moves forward and above, row #2 is back and below row #1, and row #3 is back and below row #2. So for an unobstructed view of your flight, get in row #1. Also, it is suggested that people remove their thong-sandals, clogs or other loose footwear because people have been know to lose their shoes. And though I'm proud of my home state, California, I'd be interested to see a more National flavor for the Epcot version. I just hope they keep Patrick Warburton as the flight attendant/safety announcer.
