Hi,

We've won a couple of Sky Auctions before (last year,for Orange Lake). One was a Ready Set Go auction and the other was for a 2bdrm villa in Orlando. Now we have some family friends that would like to take advantage of Sky Auction deals for a trip to WDW, but they don't have internet access at home or on the job. I would like to help them by bidding for them, but not sure how to do this...has anyone bid and won for a friend? If so, how did you get the paperwork generated in their name? We will not be accompanying them on the trip (Darn! ).

I checked out the Sky Auction website and couldn't find any info about this...I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who has done this before.

I would invite the friend over to your house and set up a bidder ID using all of their information (including their credit card info) while they are sitting next to your computer. This way, you will be able to explain the entire process and confirm what they want and how skyauction works.

I am not sure, but I think you could bid using your bidder ID and credit card. When you submit your reservation, they ask for the names of the people who will be using the condo. At this point, you would be able to put in their names only. The confirmation should be generated in their name. I'd hate to have you get stuck paying the bill if they change their minds. I think generating a bidder ID linked to their credit card will be safer for you (if they agree to do this).

I just won a ready set go auction for a 2 bedroom at Silver lake. I am paying for the condo for my sisters family so after I won the auction I asked that the paperwork come in their names and that is exactly what I got. The RCI confirmation page has my sisters family name on it even though I bought and paid for the auction.

Thanks so much for the info bearzabout and hockey mom! I did plan to have them right here with me to bid. We will use our credit card and they will pay us in cash...if we can just request their names be put on the paperwork, that will be perfect!
