Hinson was convicted of raping a 12-year-old girl in 1991. Just before his release from prison in 2000, a review committee recommended he be committed indefinitely to a Department of Mental Health facility for treatment, said Trey Walker, a spokesman for the attorney general’s office. But a circuit judge later ruled that prosecutors failed to show Hinson would likely offend again.

Why do you even have to SHOW that they would offend again? How many of these people DON'T reoffend? Sersiously *** is going on?? Why the heck can't we just start LOCKING THESE PEOPLE UP for a long time. I'm getting pissed off about this.

The Lt Gov was on GMA this morning and said the same thing you are saying. This man got an 18 yr sentence for the '91 attack but was released after 9. The Lt Gov was outraged and said that these types of people when let out usually repeat their crime. This man should have still been in jail.

The politicians will wake up when it happens to one of their children or family. Otherwise not as important as getting re-elected.
