??'s about where to stay at Poly

We wanted a standard room but do not know where to request it for? we wanted one on the ground floor so my kids can see the ducks come by the room. Are those good locations and what other locations are ideal for a quick trip to pool and beach.

We just got back from Samoa, and although it was a smoking building(or at least I think it is), there wasnt an ashtray or any smell of smoke in the room. We were on the 3rd floor and faced directly to the volcano pool. We had a great view of the Grand Floridian, the lagoon, and if we stretched, even the castle. We couldnt have asked for a a better view.

Welcome back CamColt. Yes Samoa is a smoking longhouse and at times can be very smokey. I am glad it was nice and smoke free for you. It is a great location. Niue is right next to it and is a good non-smoking longhouse but I think Tokelau is the best Garden view longhouse there and there are plenty of ground level rooms there.

We were at the Polynesian in November 01' and stayed in Samoa room 1607. WE LOVED IT! It had a patio (first floor)directly in front of the volcano pool. We had ajoining rooms w/ lots of kids so they loved being so close to the pool. We could see the fireworks if we pulled our lawn chairs out on the grass a bit as well as the water pageant. I didn't find it smoky at all. We had the sliders open whenever we were inside the room anyway. The ducks came inside often. The kids loved that. Just watch out for the "poo"! The beach is visible as well.
We are planning another trip for February and hope to get the same room, unless we decide to upgrade to concierge.
