Hi, Fellow DIS'ers -
My DW and I are planning a trip for the week of January 23rd. The best airfare deal we can find so far is with Spirit out of LaGuardia ($250 R/T, including taxes, total). That seems like a great deal. We have only ever been to LaGuardia once to drop off our DD for a flight. I have some questions about this:
1> How is Spirit Airlines, especially from LaGuardia? We have never used this airline, only USAir and Southeast.
2> Is it difficult to get to LaGuardia from the Easton area of PA? We have been to Staten Island before (the recommended route) but I don't remember if we went that way to get to LaGuardia the last time. It seems we may have gone through China Town and had to detour quite a bit. We would be traveling to LaGuardia on a Sunday afternoon and coming back on a Saturday around Noon. Is there a reason why the directions from I-78 send us down to the Goethals Bridge and over to the Verrazano Bridge rather than through the Holland Tunnel? The latter seems shorter since we wouldn't have to go south to head north.
3> How is the long term parking at LaGuardia? Is it convenient and easy to get to the terminal?
We would really like to leave from Allentown or Philly but the prices and flight selections just can't compare with the $125 R/T through Spirit. Thanks for any help you can give us!
