Ok...here is the scenario:

My DH has vacation the week of July 25th. We decided to get put on the waitlist for VGC...which we had to borrow 100 pts. from my mother. I was getting anxious because it was not coming thru so I then decided to try to get an RCI resort in/around San Diego and just do Sea World, the zoo, etc. I could not get anything!! Not even surrounding states (we're in AZ).

So...now I have decided that we should just bank our pts. and take a cruise next October (2011) when DCL will now be in Cali. We would do the Mexican Riviera cruise.

Question is this......can I bank the pts. that I borrowed from my mom to use for a DCL ressie. My UY is Dec??

Also, when using pts. for DCL, how do they figure them out? It would be 3 adults and 2 kids. My mom would have 1 kid w/ her in a cabin. Would she count as a child or an adult??? Sometimes this is confusing and I know I can get answers from the DIS!

Transfered points can not be banked.

Despite what you were told by your Guide or others, using DVC points for anything other than DVC resorts is usually not a good value.

The first two people booked in a DCL stateroom will be priced as adults, whether booking via DVC or booking on cash.

Since you cannot bank the points, have you considered perhaps using them at the Disneyland Hotel? You stated you wanted VGC at first, and it will be difficult to book anything for next month at this point. You may find some availability there or at the Paradise Pier hotel on points. You will pay a $95 exchange fee to do so, but with the points being transferred you will not have a lot of options.
