Can anyone tell me about these Market surveys and product testers and daily free samples???

I recently signed up for that mypoints program I've read about here, and I'm now getting bombarded with e-mails about taking surveys and testing products at home, and then I can keep the products I test.... (which wouldn't be bad if I'm testing a new laptop), but...

Before I start giving too much personal information in these surveys, I was wondering if anyone else has had experience with any of these. I looked at a few, and they require your home phone number, and frankly the last thing I want is to get more marketing calls. (At least with e-mail, I can delete things in my spare time).

Plus, I'm wondering if there are any catches later on where I'm going to end up paying after free use of something for a period of time.

Any feedback would be appreciated....

I recently asked the same question and i was referred to the Rewards board.

IMO I have also found the survey companies better than the freebie sites, but i'm not sure by how much.... But IMHO there is still nothing free -- there is always a catch with EVERY 'free' offer i've attempted to do, and some of them are extremely far from free.

One of the biggest culprits is the recent two-free nights in a holiday inn express. Its totally a pitch for a time share, and the HI Exp is far from anything in orlando.

I use to do a lot of them, but now the only ones I do are pinecone and mysurvey.com You can't refer people to pinecone,you need to find the banner link of pinecone and sign-up from there or sometimes they will put out a call for certain age groups they are looking for and you can refer to that. I found mysurvey from a my points point option several months ago. I use to do erewards, startsampling and several others whose names I have forgotten but they really were not worth the time. I know the one you are talking about from mypoints and it looked like it was going to be way to much trouble so I didn't even start it. As for a phone # I always use 555-1212 (information #). I have never made much from these places, but its just a little extra.
