We have a 2 BR at OKW for 10/5-10/12. Although this is our home resort, we have never even seen it! We're really looking forward to our trip, but I have a few (more) questions.

Is there somewhere at OKW to grab a cup of coffee and a muffin or pastry (to-go) in the morning?

Are any of the the resort activities worth trying with small children (we have a 3 y/o and a 1 y/o)?

Anything else a first-timer should know?

Also, I wanted to say thanks to anyone who answers this or who answered any of my previous threads. This board is such a great source of information!

I can't believe it's almost here and we'll finally see OKW!

Regarding breakfast, since you have a two bedroom that comes with a full kitchen, why don't you buy the breakfast items at the country store right there at OKW-you can have them in the morning that way. I see one problem you may have because of the age of your kids-that is the second bedroom is pretty far away from the master bedroom-I don't know how your two kids will handle that, there is two large queen beds in the second bedroom-one or both of you may end up sleeping in the second bedroom just to keep the kids company?? If you keep both doors opened up to both bedrooms you should be able to hear them if the air condition is not running.

Just seconding the idea that "your kitchen" is the best place. :) Heck, take some time and enjoy it out on your balcony.

You can also grab something at the snack bar near the main pool.

I enjoy taking a leisurely stroll to the snack bar that Pam mentioned.

There are all sorts of activities for children that your 3 year old might enjoy. You'll get a schedule of events when you check in.

Have a great time!

:D :D :D :D

There is nothing more relaxing than a morning walk on the OKW ground with coffee in hand just soaking in the atmosphere! You'll be surprised at the wildlife you'll see early in the morning.

I agree with all the other OKW vets. One of the major perks of OKW is breakfast on your porch. Visit Chef Mickeys at the Marketplace and pick up pastries for Breakfast (there are the 1oz. half and half condiments or you can buy some milk at the store). Bring a pound (and scoop) of your favorite coffee, some 4” filters and as everyone has stated sit on the porch and enjoy. OJ, cerial, milk is available at the General Store.

Will you have your own transport? If so, many folks stop at an off site grocery before checking in, or just after checking in to OKW. You can then purchase the items you want/need for the duration of your stay and won't have to pay the inflated on site costs.

If you stop at a Publix, you will have an exensive choice of baked goods and other prepared foods. There is a Krispy Kreme on 192 (east of Disney) that many folks like to visit!

(There are other grocery shops, of course, but my personal favorite is Publix).
