What type of purchase must be made to get the double developer points? Does it need to be a new purchase or can it be an add on? What is the minimum number of points you have to buy to get the double points? How long will they be offered? Thank you!

Here is what I know.

New Contract - Minimum 160
Add to Existing - Minimum 100, but that may have changed, you should call your guide.
How long is completely up to disney. The double has been running for a while now. The only change that occurred this week is they now allow 12 months to use instead of 7 months, buy you can only book 7 months out.

A few more questions - Can the developers points be used to book a stay at any DVC resort? Do you only get them with an add on at AKV or SSR, not any of the other resorts? What is the price per point now? Is there currently an end date to this deal? Thank you!

Yes, the Developer Points may be used at any DVC resort - based on availability. They are currently an incentive for both SSR and AKV but are not for purchases at any other resort.

The price is $104 per point with the Developer Points.

Some have reported an end date of August 31, but I've seen nothing official from DVC regarding any change in the incentive. You'd want to check with your guide regarding that.

The only thing my guide has said is that the double developer points will end "soon". Otherwise, the Doorway to Dreams incentive at the Chicago store only, is scheduled to end August 31st. That has been the only stated ending date I have seen.

Cost per point for both AKV and SSR is $104. You get either double developer points or a discount of $8 off on AKV and $10 off on SSR. Minimum for new contracts is 160 points as stated, but add-ons may actually be 110 points (not sure). Only by going to Chicago will you receive both the discount and partial developer points for ADD-ONS only.

As far as the developer points: Yes you can use them at any DVC resort, but you cannot book with them until the 7 month window (even if booking at your home resort)
