Hello All ~ Is Ryan Air a good airline? Thanks! Sandra in Canada

Hi Sandra it's a budget, no frills airline. I don't know if you have airlines like that in Canada but they don't serve meals but will sell you snacks - no big deal. Also you don't get allocated a seat so it can be a bit of a free for all getting on the plane. I flew to Dublin in July with Ryan Air and was most impressed. A family of 4 Scotland - Ireland return £109!

We flew to Italy with Ryanair this summer.
£342 for 3 to Italy from the UK :sunny:

As susie says it's a no frills airline and we found the snacks on board to be a little pricey but take a picnic..... :thumbsup2
There are no allocated seats but families with young children and the disabled get to board first.
Hand luggage is free but you pay to check luggage into the hold (only £2.50 for each case when we flew)

We'd certainly fly with them again.
:)

They claim to have lost out heavily with the recent security scares but have just had an ad on TV offering loads of free fares.
I thought it was just like getting on a bus, but good for short flights.

I've flown Ryan Air a few times and have had no troubles with them! One thing you may want to check out is the airport's proximity to your actual destination. Ryan Air tends to fly into airports quite a piece outside of the city centre, check to see how long it will take to get to your final destination and how much it will cost! When I flew into Paris- Beauvais, it took almost an hour to get into Paris and cost 10€ each way which was pretty cheap considering the flight itself was only about 15GBP each way! However, flying into Tampere and then busing into Helsinki took more than an hour... but I slept most of it anyway ;)

Also check out EasyJet!

Fellow Canadian,
