I have been on timeshare trips thru Starwood and there were restrictions on RV parking in their lots. I was wondering if there are any restrictions for RVs in DVC parking lots. SSR has the parking door to door but I did not think to ask about this when I purchased DVC . The RV takes up 2 spots and I know some of the resorts have small lots. The RV saves alot of airfare costs. This is a great forum for these kind of questions. Thank you ahead of time for the informative answers.

While I'm not positive about the policy at SSR, at OKW RV's are not allowed in the regular parking areas. They do have parking available nearby at PO-R for those vehicles.

It might be best to call the resort to ask before arrival - just to be prepared.

Enjoy!

Thank you. Before planning i'll have to get the info.I'd hate to be stuck looking for a place to park the RV 5 miles away. :moped:

When I was there last month, I noticed there was an RV taking up about 4 spaces in front of building 27 or 28 at OKW. Why don't you call the front desk and ask.

We talked to our guide about this last week while we were there because we have the use of my in laws RV and I was told in no uncertain terms all RV parking is over at PO Riverside.

Hey Doc, it's not often anyone ever catches you in an error, but finally did....:teeth:

At OKW RV parking is allowed on property if the vehicle is less than the width of the interior of the lines of one individual parking space, and does not exceed 24 feet in length. In other words, it doesn't take up anymore than a single parking spot. However, an RV that exceeds these measurements cannot be parked on property and must be parked at Port Orleans. (See your member Guidebook, page 112)

Of course when someone parks an RV and takes up more than one space then they are breaking the rules. And it gives all us RV'ers a bad name. I don't like it any more than you do. I only saw it happen once and I did stop by the front desk about it, but it did stay there for at least 2 more days so I don't know if DVC ever said anything or not.

For the other resorts:

SSR: No RV's at all. RV's must be parked at Port Orleans.
VWL: Parking is allowed but the vehicle must be parked way in the back near the exit roads, and not take up spaces in the main areas of the lot.
BCV, same as VWL, park RV's at the back of the lot, furthest away from the buildings.
BWV: RV's can be parked in the lot near the taxi cab waiting area, but not in the main guest lot. To get to the proper lot, make an immediate left turn about 20 feet past the guard station at the main entrance. This takes you to the lot that is right next to Buena Vista Drive.
HH: No RV parking available. There's suppose to be a spot about 1-1/2 miles from the resort, but I'm not sure where it's at. (We've never taken the RV to HH)
VB: This is the only one I don't know for sure, but I don't think there's any RV parking available there.

My neice gave me a Grumpy sweat shirt so I'll have to live up to it. When I see this happen I'll report it to the front desk. If nothing happens I'll report it higher up.

And if permitted, pictures will be posted here with a nice view of the license plate.

Just to verify... we saw RV's parked in the back of the self-parking lot at BCV.

If it is allowed, the only suitable place is across AIA - there's a fairly large lot near the tennis courts over there. I assume it's the cast member lot. Pedestrians and golf carts can take the tunnel under A1A to get between the resort and the property across the street. There's also a picnic area and a small lake over there. Nice walking/hiking trails, too.

Best wishes -
