Rv Rentals

Auntie: that was the point of my posts, for a rentor to make sure they know what might happen if things don't go perfect. IF they are someone who doesn't mind doing mechanical work then it should be no problem. If they are a novice/first time rv'r then it might be something to truly think about when planning a vacation.
Like I said its pretty obvious there are people on this board that dont want any negative experiences posted. If you read one of my post I pretty much say I can recommend their services. I called them nice people and such and still my experience has been trivialized and I feel questioned by some.

Yes, I feel I was truly in danger of something happening when I was asked to test some things out in and under the rv. I'm talking flicking a light switch. I told both the owner and the sub that I was afraid to be doing this and they didn't like that.
There could have been danger in what I was asked to in my opinion I truly feel. Sure there are safety things in place hopefully to prevent it but things still can happen. Right this moment if my rv had the same problem, I would not do the 'testing', I would call a professional.

If the moderator wants to delete my posts, feel free. I read the rules of the forum and I think this one may apply as I see these links above for these companies posted a lot on these boards. Could it be someone is making up names to generate comments to keep their names on the board? I'm not accusing, I am just asking.
7. ADVERTISING: The advertisers/sponsors who you see on the DIS are carefully chosen. While we welcome discussion of them as well as other businesses that you have information or questions about, if it's determined that you are using the DIS to promote a commercial venture, you will lose your posting privileges. This includes choosing a username/signature that refers to your business. In addition, links to the company's website will be blocked. Also note that we do not want the boards to be used for solicitations or for requesting referrals. Requests for advertising can be directed to Corey@wdwinfo.com for consideration

Ive posted the renters websites on MANY occassions to inform campers of a service I found VERY helpful in my vacations at the fort. I have rented from the company you had an unfortunate experience with...and our stay was FAN-DAM-TASIC!!!! Much better than I had expected. As a matter of fact...heres a link to my TRIP REPORT with a ton of pictures of the camper we rented.

I am ALSO very familiar with the other renter listed and would trust the owner with my life(my life...not my wife!!! ;)).

I am definately guilty of promoting these companies because they offer an excellent service that the camping community can benefit from. And I assure you...Im not an alias of anyones!!! I am one of a kind!

If companies are recommended in the forum, then both good and bad reviews should be accepted in the context in which they are intended.
I'm sure posters truly inquiring as to rental recommendations, appreciate reading what previous renters have experienced. What might not have gone well, is as valuable as rave reviews. It wasn't my impression that Duranfan was bashing anyone's company, merely stating the difficulties they encountered on their trip and how it was handled. I think they were trying to do so, without offending either rental company, knowing that both are members of this camping forum, and they genuinely liked who they rented from. THAT is the problem, with stating which company it was. I also think most of the regulars here know that.

Well said Auntie.
I NEVER tried to sway anyone not to rent from either company. I had positive things to say about them too, but its obvious that many posters here are biased whether it be from a great experience, friendships or business relationships that my opinion was NOT appreciated.

Everything I said was 100% true and let me tell you IF I went in detail to what happened and what the problem was I think most of you would not have wanted to trade places.

I dont see a problem with posting a bad experience......things happen. Actually, I think its great to help realize that CAMPING itself is supposed to be an adventure of unexpected events.......as I stated, my personal experience couldnt have been better...but I have heard some problems from other campers. And again, things happen in an imperfect, real world.

It didn't take long, but this is now the dumbest thread of 2010.

I thought it was the "can I borrow your campsite and put all my crap and kids on it" thread.

I thought it was the "can I borrow your campsite and put all my crap and kids on it" thread.

That was 2009 but a good one I have to go back and read it.

I like the clothes line one for 2010, but the autograph is a close running 2nd

This thread just goes to show you that you cant judge a thread by its title!!!! Some of the most ho-hum titles turn into the most entertaining!!!

popcorn::

but seriously, I saw quite a few rental RVs when we were there last week. Seems like a popular thing to do.

My original question still stands. So far it does not sound like a "simple maintenance issue".
