My sister and family are thinking of joining us when we go down to disney. We are renting an RV to go down and there will be eight of us on that site. She wants to tent. Are there loops with RVs and tents? so we can be fairly close together?

If you have under 10 people total-you could put the tent and RV on one site and share the cost. We did that one year and had no trouble fitting both on our site.

All canming loops (i.e. not cabin loops) allow both tents and RVs in the same loop.

As CLynnJones suggested you could share a site, or if that would be too much you can choose a loop of the type service you want.

There are 3 levels of campsites at Fort Wilderness:

Standard, which includes electric and water This includes the 1500 and 2000 loops

Full Hook Up, which includes electric, water and sewer (most of them are this way) This includes the 600, 800, 900, 1000, 1100, 1200, 1300, 1600, 1700, 1800, and 1900 loops.

Preferred, which includes electric, water, sewer and cable TV The preferred sites are also in loops situated closer to the settlement which includes the marina, beach, restaurant, petting zoo and many other activities. Also, if you plan on using the cable TV hook up, remember to bring a long coaxial cable to hook up with. If you don't have one Disney will be happy to sell you one.FW Camp Site This includes the 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 700 and 1400 loops.

The other thing to keep in mind is pets. Some loops are designated for pets and you may want to as for one or to stay away from one as your preference. The pet loops are hook up 800, 1600, 1700, 1800, & 1900 loops or the 300 or 700 "preferred" loops. The 500 loop is an overflow preferred pet loop when additional pet sites are needed.

Thanks for the help! There would be 12 of us altogether so too many for one site. Unless the only count adults? Total 9 adults and 3 kids under ten

They count everyone. Plus, they charge $2 per adult over the first two.

With that many people I would recomend getting two sites to be more comfortable (plus be within the rules).

Just make sure you tell them the size of the tents used. The full hookup loops have more driveway and less sand area to set up tents. There are no dumping stations at WDW, so the RV would need at least a full hookup site. From my casual observation, the preferred sites seem to have even less sand pad and lots of driveway as the biggest riggs seem to request the preffered sites.

Another option would be to request Loop 1500 for the tent folks (partial hookup), and Loop 1600 for the RV folks (full hookup). A portion of 1500 and 1600 backs up to each other and shares a comfort station. Site 1503 and 1504 are right next to that comfort station, and there a a couple of sites in 1600 right next to that comfort station.
