I was once. Thought the steak was awesome. However, really not worth the price. You can get a comparable tasting steak at most other steakhouses for less with side included, or even making one at your own home for even less money.

Well, in Canada, unless those times are when one happens to have a layover at YYC, one is totally out of luck. I've personally never had it as the only location is on the departures level of the airport behind security and I've not been through when it's open. For me, it remains cloaked in mystique.

This is NOT an American-bashing thing, honestly it's not, but much American USDA Prime is corn-fed and it gives the meat a very weird purple colour and mushy texture compared to ours which is mostly grass-fed (silage made from alfalfa in the winter). And Ruth's Chris may be the only local place serving a porterhouse; it's a very uncommon cut here. Most often that portion of the beef is marketed here as separate filet and striploin.

I have never gone. We used to have a really good local steak house near me. Sadly it closed a few years ago.

I adore it, but it's for certain a super special occasion place for us because of the price.

For the prices they charge, the food should be much better. They charged $10 for a side dish of potatoes -- rather blah, and definitely not worth $10. As others have said, we can fix better steak at home.

Only been once (San Francisco) with my wife from the regular menu when it was my birthday and most of it was paid for with a $100 gift card from credit card points. We ordered from a special menu that included one meat/fish entree (mostly steaks), one side, and one dessert. I think a la carte it would have been about $75 each, but with the combo it was maybe $46.

But the real deal they have is their happy hour at their bar or patio area. When I was working a short term job in the Sacramento area I would drive all the way to Roseville because they had $6 menu items including a steak sandwich made with filet ends or their "Prime burger". I saw a lot of people ordering 3 items since it was still under $20 each. Sometimes I'd go to their Sacramento location which charged $7. It's universally $9 now, but still a bargain. I don't know about paying full price, but the meat during happy hour is just as good, although smaller portions. When I drove my parents to Sacramento to get a post-operation exam, I brought him over there and he really liked it - especially for $9.

I think it's good but too expensive. I wouldn't make one at home but just go to a more reasonable restaurant. Lots of good steak to be had.

We often look at the menu when we go to Niagara Falls, but the prices are off the chart, so we end up at The Keg instead. I’ve heard the prices at this location are almost double the price of other locations.

I've been a couple of times when the boss was paying (and probably too drunk to realize how high of a bill he was running up). I'm not a steak fan so it was wasted on me. Too expensive for my taste and like other's have said I can cook a steak at home the way DH likes it for a whole lot less money.

Yes, their happy hour menu is very reasonable with delicious options! I’ve gone for HH more then a sit down dinner.

That’s not too bad, the local steakhouse 1/4 mile from me ranges from $34 - $110 for steaks.

I'll pass... after charging $20-40+ for a mediocre steak, they have the gall to charge you $7 for a baked potatoe. Save your money and go to a decent local place instead.

More like starts at $45+ for just a steak! I think it’s generally worth it to pay for a good quality steak cooked by someone besides me for a change! Only once have I been to an Ruth’s Chris when one of my tablemate’s steak wasn’t quite up to par—and it was immediately replaced and taken off the bill.

And I love a la carte sides! It’s nice to chose exactly what you want and share a few things family style. Like I said, I definitely prefer STK overall, but I like the Ruth’s Chris model and execution too.

Sadly, where we are, there are no local steakhouses that can approach the quality of Capital Grille, which is about 45 minutes away. Amazing seafood everywhere in town, but steak, not so much.

Oh yes don't go to that one in Niagara Falls. You also end up having to pay that tourists tax on top of it all. I think it added another $50 to our bill

Bottled water? Of course they do! Who doesn’t charge for bottled water? Ask for tap water.... it’s free!
