Ruth's Chris or Steakhouse 55?

Just looking for some opinions from any steak aficionados out there. We want to have a good steak while at DL in Oct, but can't decide between Ruth's Chris (on Harbor Blvd), or Steakhouse 55. We've been to a Ruth's Chris before, but not the one in Anaheim, and never been to Steakhouse 55. The prices seem to be pretty close, so what do you think? Which is better in your opinion?

I would choose Steakhouse 55 because you've been to a Ruth's Chris before and you can go again when you get back home. While RC certainly serves a great steak. Steakhouse 55 has the great Disney service and magic.

It's hard to go wrong with Ruth's Chris. My first "real" steak was at a Ruth's Chris many years ago. However, I'd go with Steakhouse 55. We went a couple months back and it was fantastic. It's upscale but still has the Disney touch with pics of Walt and stars of his era who dined there many years ago.

These are my thoughts, too.

I'm debating a similar scenario. DH and I are going in October, to celebrate our anniversary, and want to have a nice steak dinner. We've been to Steakhouse 55 before, so now we're debating on going back there or trying something new, to us, in either RC or Morton's.

Have you considered Napa Rose? There is usually a nice cut of beef on the menu, no matter the season. Right now the beef entree is an Angus tenderloin.

I've thought about it, but my DH is a 'steak and potatoes' type of guy. When I've shown him the Napa Rose menu, in the past, he gets all :scared: and :crazy2: on me! :rotfl2:

We ate at the Steakhouse 55 for the first time this past summer and thoroughly loved every moment of it. I have eaten at RC and other higher end steakhouses and have to put it up there with any of them. We had the filet mignon, garlic mashed potatoes, and their lovely warm bread. It was heaven on earth. You literally could cut the steak with a spoon. I give no hesitation in recommending this restaurant to anyone who loves steak. Go and have a great dinner!

We have a rule in our family that you can't eat anywhere on vacation that you can eat at home. So for me, it would be Steakhouse 55 all the way. Even though Ruth's Chris is good, it's great to experience a non-chain restaurant that offers a unique experience. Plus S55 is on-property, so you can stay "in the magic" instead of driving a ways off property.
