russell brand and pirates 4?

read yesterday russell brand is possibly going to be in pirates 4. he could be playing jack's brother. what do you all think? i think it could work really well.

I really like Russel Brand and I do think he would be good in it esp with J.Depp however due to his adult comedy material I really don't think he should cross over in to mainstream family entertainment, I know he has done another film for disney though.

If there is to be for sure, but yet another pirates movie, I hope to god, that it is better from POTC lll ; I still like to pretend that it never happened!

IMO it'd be great if Russell Brand was in POTC4 - he dressed up for Heat mag as Cap'n Jack Sparrow a while ago and was a dead ringer for Johnny Depp. TBH I don't think his 'adult' material should have any bearing - old Keith Richards isn't exactly a role model but there he was camping it up in POTC3...

That would actually make sense if Orlando Bloom is not going to be in it, as they will be probably be looking for a young pretty boy to replace him. It will be nice if they got someone who good act though rather than just look pretty, I haven't seen this lad in anything apart from HSM so can't really comment on his acting however Orlando Blooms delivery of some of the lines was cringe worthy and he could not do the comedy lines at all.

I do think that Russel Brand will be good with Johnny Depp in the film though. His image is quite similar to Jacks.

My DD does not watch the POTC films anyway as she is far too sensitive for them. She is not to keen on the ride!

Zac Efron has been asked if he would like the part,but no deal has been made(he has also rubbished it as rumours).Zac will be very busy filming Footloose(the original was with Kevin Bacon) .(which i can't wait to see,as i think he will be great in it).x.

Ok Zac Effron maybe for Bloom replacement but no way could he replace Depp if Depp left Pirates at any stage.

Also think that it could be a wrong step to have Brand in a family film such as disney POTC.

I am not sure about it awell to be honest, if it is a small part maybe be okay, I would not like him being on merchandise in the Disney parks etc. I do like him however not sure if POTC is the place for him.

It would be such a shame about Orlando Bloom being replaced. Not a huge Brand fan but I think he would be great and would fit right in. I agree though that he looks as if he needs a good wash and a ton of conditioner

If Zac Effron is it it I reckon he'll play the grown up son, they wouldn't introduce that character at the end of the third without making it a crucial part of the 4th. I agree with Claire, I think he'd look really out of place in the parks on the merchandising, and indeed in the disney store here. I think there are other roles he's great for, but definately not a well loved family film such as this!

Same here. And i'd be astonished after last weeks incident if Disney came within a thousand leagues of him for a family role.

I'm half way through Brand's book "booky wooky" (which I got out of the library to help me fly to spain, but thats another story) and so far he does not seem a very nice person which has put me off even further. Perhaps they think that they can replace Depp eventually with Brand as he would be cheaper!!!

Its good to see what others think.

I didn't mind Brand on big brother big mouth but used to hate watching it with DD, Kirsty as some of the things he used to say was just sooooo embarising.

I'm not a Russell Brand fan but don't think Disney would mind at all. Given the fact that they ignored the furore of Miley Cyrus's provocative photographs with Annie Leibovitz. Remember the photographs of Vanessa Hudgens that were circulating that were taken to tease her co-star Zac Effron with
If the fanchise of POTC continues to roll in the money then Disney will be very happy

Oh my god! and not in a good way, either. Give me a break, especially with the latter possibility. I cannot see any other actor ever replacing Johnny Depp, because he is a most versatile actor, not to mention an excellent one as well. Does anyone really believe that anyone in some little high school movie, could ever, ever, come even close to his level of acting ability? I do not. Not to mention as well, that these cutesy little actors that are barely out of high school, do not have Depp's life experience. Matter of fact, these spoiled little brats, have to borrow someone else's experiences, in order to have any to begin with.
