We ate O'hana's on sat the 17th. Had 5pm ADR was seated at 510. first brought out wontons, then right away the salad, then 5 minutes after that the chicken wings and shrimp. then by by no later then 525 they started with the scewers. my wife loks at me and can see I've become agitated. when the lady brought second scewer and asked do you won't some. Im blerted out a resounding NO! Stop RUSHING US!. I felt bad after I said but then again I thought this is a Family style Buffet why can't they wait till were down with each 'cource' before bringing out the next. I was so angry That when the lady came back asking if we were ready for desert, that I purposely said i want some more pork and sausage ,and then preceded to eat only 1 of the 4 pieces! I obviously wasn't in the mood for desert from being rushed to eat so my wife ate and we left at 555. we were there barely 45 minutes. Are they in a rush to get people in and out?I'll tell you this i'm never going back. will say this the sausage is really good that they added. pirate: :confused3

I don't think I will be going back with the new menu.

Actually the wontons, salad, and wings are all appetizers. When we went, they were brought to the table at the same time. The "cousins" do come around frequently asking if you want more food - to make you happy, not to rush you. Not eating your food on purpose to prove some "point" seems a bit childish IMO. I really don't think they were trying to run you out of the restaurant.

Sounds like it's not the case with you, but some people I'm sure want to eat and get somewhere else when they're at WDW. That's often the case with us and we appreciate them moving things along, especially when the kids are in tow. :earboy2:

Sorry you didn't enjoy Ohana. It's our family's favorite so I would be pretty bummed if we had a bad experience there. Hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip! :wizard:

Unfortunately we've had the opposite problem the last 2 times we ate there. We thought we were going to have to send out flares to get more of the meats.

I think it would have done the job if you politely said "I need a little more time. Can you come back in a few minutes?"

Purposely wasting food does nothing except cost all the guests money in the long run. I'm not sure what your point was with that. It just doesn't seem right to me.

It was my understanding that the sides were all supposed to be there at one time, and that's how I enjoy eating it there. I like to eat the sides, salad, etc WITH my meat - so I would be happy if it was all brought together or close together. I don't want to eat all that and then just eat meat!

And what was the point in yelling at the waitress and then wasting food? I don't get that at all. You could have simply told her that you thought each round was a "course" and could she serve them that way - they were not served as courses when I went, but as sides/appetizers and meats all at the same time so I would have thought she was doing her job to bring them out in a short period of time so I could enjoy it all together.

I'm sorry you were disappointed.

The last review I just read said it took too long. So I hope we get a happy medium next week. I don't like to spend all night in a restaurant nor do I want to be rushed out.

maybe since you were an early seating they had people waiting...not that that means you should have to gulp and run.... i hate to be rushed too..i have had servers ask for our drink orders before we have even sat all the way down in our seats...uh could i have min, to at least take off my coat..!

however at Ohana's we couldn't find our waiter so our experience was the opposite of yours as far as the skewers went...we said "no" to the turkey and we could forget ever seeing him again! I would think the Ohana servers would ask if you want more appes then bring out the skewers when you are finished...that's kind of how they did ours too though, throw it all on the table, and then the skewers almost right away...the whole Ohana experince just wasn't my cup of tea either i guess

I thought I was the only one who felt rushed last time I went there.

Me and some friends went there once and we were done in about less then an hour. Although one of my friends also had the oposite experience when it took almost 20 minutes to just get someone for a skewer. He had to grab about 2 different people bussing tables just to let them know the table was ready for more food.

I guess we are all different, I like getting my meat shortly after digging in to the starters. I like to have the rice (now potatoes) and salad with my meats. I guess this is where communicating with your server is important. Had you explained that you expected time to finish all of your starters before you meat was brought to your table you might have had a better experience.

When we were there on Sunday the 18th, for the review I did, we sat at 5PM and weren't rushed at all. We even had an hour between sitting down and the time the meats were brought out. Everything was pretty well paced, maybe a bit slow even.

I am not known to rush through a dinner. With that said, a dinner that lasts just short of an hour, at a restaurant where all meals are pre-cooked, just doesn't seem rushed to me.

The time it would take to look at a menu, decide what you want, have the server take and place your order, then wait for it to be cooked, would add over 1/2 hour to your meal. I just don't see the equivelent of a 1 hour and 20 minute meal being a rush job.
Especially not rushed enough to get my blood pressure up while on vacation. ;)

We were so rushed that we had all 3 courses on the table at one time. I had already told our server when the main course came that we hadnt eaten our starter, only to find him trying to find room to shove the dessert on to the table too. Having been seated in the corner away from the action and the fact that the food was dreadful, that was enough to make us decide never to go back again.

We received all our appetizers, including the potatos, wontons and salad at once. I assumed it was supposed to be that way. Having said that, we weren't terribly rushed, but like Maggs, we found the food so dreadful that we will never go back. I don't understand the attraction of this place.

hey you must have had the same table as us but not the a same waiter...ours husband had to put in a head lock while i grabbed his ankles and wrestled him to the floor to make him pause long enough to give us dessert :)

Let me clarify something; or actually put it in question form. when you go to a resturant and order an appatizer or salad/soup, is the main cource given to you less then 5 minutes after they bring your apetizer/salad? Not usually , but that was my point, how are you supposed to enjoy, let alone digest the food when its being basically forced upon you?! I wasn't wrong to yell either, if your server see "s your plate is full from salad/appatizer/wontons, they should know your not ready for the next cource/food! pirate:

With 3 kids I expect to be in and out of a restaurant in an hour. Especially at a place with a fixed menu where you don't wait for the food to be cooked to order.

Now I do expect a server to see that I don't have room/haven't finished one course before delivering the next, but I'm sure there are more people like me who want to get in/eat/get out.

I think it is the diner's responsibility to let the server know which type of guest they are.

I feel your pain, sorry you felt rushed. Just for future help...it's "course" not "cource".

I think everyone is different as to when/how they like their food served. I like to eat my salad and potatoes with my main meal/meat, so I would be more than happy to have the meats come out right away. As a matter of fact, I usually ask our "cousin" to bring out the meats as soon as possible. I can certainly understand if you would prefer your courses served seperately with time in between to enjoy your appetizers before the main course arrives. A quick word with your server would hopefully have resolved this problem.
