Rush to certain rides?

Hi. We are DW veterans but are new to Universal. We are excited to take our first trip this June and stay onsite at RPR. At DW, we always hit the busiest rides first or use FP. Since we are staying onsite and will have FOTL, are there still rides in each park we should rush to first thing in the morning to avoid a wait? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Even with FOTL, it's still a good idea to show up early so you can get front seat rides on the coasters, and ride Pteranondon Flyers before the kid rule goes into effect.

There's usually enough time to ride Hulk in the front, Dr. Doom, Spiderman, walk quickly to Pteranondon Flyers, then head to Dueling Dragons riding both sides in the front.

i agree with robvia.

i stay on site and always get to the park turnstile by 8:20.
guests are let in when there is a line waiting.

not everything is open if you get in early but you have the park to yourself.

it is a different experience to ride the hulk first thing in the morning when the mist is full on that one dip. it is much easier to do repeat rides also.

i use the fotl but still like to be there when the park has few people in it.
it's not necessarily for me to be there early since lines are not long but it's great for picture taking and being able to take my time to get choice seats for the rides.

i like sitting in the front rows.

What time does the Pteranondon Flyers kid rule start? Our youngest is 11, but he is a big 11, so not sure they will let us on during the main part of the day. Think I remember riding it 4 years ago and we enjoyed it.

It really depends more on the size of the crowd. I've been there on days where the wait was never over 5 or 10 minutes, so they are not as picky on those days. But, when it is busy, the wait can get to 60 minutes pretty early. Check and see how much they are charging for the Express books for your visit days and that will give you an idea of how busy the parks are expected to be.

i went and was at universal on last year columbus day weekend.

they allowed adults to ride it before 11:30.

after that, you had to have a kid with you to ride it.

it is a short ride of about 90 seconds. they want the kids to be able to enjoy it so adults w/out kidlettes don't always get on.

like the above posted stated, it depends on the lines and the tm's that are working. they can say when the ride is designated for kids only. of course the parents are included on that kids only thing..
