Runny nose in the nursery?

We leave a week from tomorrow on our cruise and we are SO excited! My youngest just turned one this week and has several nursery bookings. A week and a half ago, she had some viral illness with a fever and developed a small cough and runny nose. The fever is long gone (lasted two days) but the mild runny nose and cough have persisted. Her doctor said it just needs to run it’s course and winter is tough etc etc. Normal daycare and our gym’s daycare both accept this level of illness since otherwise many toddlers and preschoolers would miss significant chunks of time, but I realize the cruise nursery may be more strict.

If my daughter has a slight runny nose (I wipe her nose maybe once per hour) and a small cough (coughs a couple times per hour), will she be able to go to nursery, or is that no go? Obviously we are resting a lot and we have a week, but I want to set my expectations here!

I have never used the nursery, but it might be worth a call to Disney to ask what their rules are. I would imagine your daughter will be allowed there, especially with another week to recover. Is there any chance that her doctor would be willing to provide a letter with a timeline of the illness so that there is proof that these are just lingering symptoms? I hope she feels better and you have a great cruise!

My daughter has slight allergies with a dry cough and clear runny nose at times (and something with the ships area or maybe sudden changes in climate always irritates her and my throat). We’ve had zero issues with the nursery.

She should be fine! We would say she can’t come in if her symptoms were really bad but it sounds like it will be alright.
