Running with music

I listen to audio books and occasionally music or podcasts on my iPod Nano just depends on how much mileage I will be doing. I also only use one earphone and low volume for safety issues.

LOVE my shuffle. I also have a mega IPOD that I use to download audio books but it's boring on the TM so I use my shuffle for everything.

Before the 1/2 during Christmas break, I was listening to Digital music on the TV while sewing. The 80's music. Every time I heard something that I liked and was a good beat, I'd run over to the computer and download it from Itunes. It made it great during the 1/2 for the long stretch on the way to the MK and from the MK.

One of the best moments of the day was when I was on the Overpass and I heard Lionel Ritchie coming on with "Dancing on the Ceiling" That sure did kick me into high gear. I'll never hear that song again and not think of that moment.

My songs are always low enough that I can hear people talking to me. I had a sticker on my back that said "it's all Nick's fault" cause it was HIS idea to do the 1/2. I had a lot of comments about that sticker and I heard them all.

I did shut off my tunes as I entered the MK until about mile 7. It was not necessary. I also shut it off when entering Epcot. Pretty much where Wishers' were to hear their cheers and thank them. I also wanted to hear the Gospel singers.

Everything in moderation including where, when and the volume of your music.

Have Ipod, will run.

I keep one earplug in, on the side away from car traffic. Depending on where the cars are, I have to switch sides every once in a while.

Guess I am the odd ball. I use my shuffle all the time. Both ear buds. Short runs, long runs, etc. I run in a pretty safe place usually.

During the marathon and a subsequent half I took my iPod but hardly even used it. Never used it in a 5K though.

enjoy,
Duane
