I know, it is a tough one. Personally, it makes me wonder how long they plan on keeping McNabb, though I don't think Vick is much of a quarterback. I guess we'll see. It'll make for some interesting football.
I think he only has a year left on his contract. I don't care for him so I will not miss him when he goes.
That's so fantastic, Lynn! Congratulations!
Thank you so much!
10.5 miles?! Again, you are AWESOME!
Thanks girlie!!
Congratulations on the 10.5! You're an inspiration!
Thanks! That's a nice thing to say.
If I can do it anybody can.
wow, congrats on the 10.5! I did my 8 miles in the same time you did your 10.5..haha! I think I'm trying for 9 tomorrow but it's supposed to be really hot and crappy out so we'll see how that goes. I always need my gu chomps (i dont like the gu gels..bleh!) and some gatorade/water. I just bought a water belt so I'm going to see how that works.
you're definitely ready for this!
YAY good for you on your 8 miles!!! Oh I know it's going to be so hot this week. BOO! Let me know how the water belt goes! Hope it works out. Good luck!
Awesome, Lynn!!
I think my boyfriend's brother is planning on running the half too. He just brought it up a few days ago and wants to plan a trip to Disney with his girl around the same time you're going. Maybe me and Joe will make the trip out too!
OOOOOH you have to go!!! Please go, lol!!!
wow lynn congrats thats a really good time and 10.5 miles WOW just WOW!!

have you always been a runner? or is this something that you just recently got into? I used to run cross country back in the day in high school LOL, and would do a lot of runs for fundraising one was called a " turkey trot" lol to raise money for people to have a turkey for thanksgiving-- i miss it sometimes-- now i am into walking-- fast steady walking LOL
Thank you! Yeah I have always ran, ever since I was a little kid. I was always really quick too. I just got into distance running though this January. Wish I would have started a long time ago. Wish I would have done it in HS. Aww the Turkey Trot sounds so nice. I would love to do that.
10.5 miles is great! I ran in Philly this morning and it was brutally hot. I agree, it's much better running in cooler temps. I ran the half last year, and one of the hardest parts was that all the training is during the fall/winter, so running the race in the FL heat was a challenge. Sounds like you're on schedule to run the full, so you should be in great shape for the half!
I see that you live in Jersey. Have you thought about doing either the Philly Distance Run (half marathon) in Sept. or the Philadelphia Marathon in November?
Edited to add that I just went back and read your intro and see that you're doing the philly half. Awesome!
Yeah it has been hot!!! I'm hoping it won't be that hot for the half. I don't think it will, lol.
You know I was signed up for the half in Philly, well I thought I was. For some reason when I registered, my payment never went through. I think I forgot to hit confirm or whatever. I just found out. GRR. So I'm signed up for the Run the Bridge in Nov. I saw the half in Sept.... I'm thinking about it. I feel ready for it.
Thank you! You are doing great though. You have plenty of time!!
Hi Lynn, I am a LONG TIME lurker or your TR's, and I finally decided to come out and say hi!
Loved all of your reports, and I will be following this one as well.

I see that you will be doing a marathon this time, so I wanted to know your training schedule. I want to start running, and if you have any advice, feel free to share!
Hey!!!! Thank you so much for coming on board. Glad you're here. Well I started training in January. I started with just 3 miles, on a speed of 5.5, I think? Then when I felt stronger, I increased my speed. So now I when I run on the treadmill, I run on 8.0.. that took me about 3 months to get to 8. In March I did my first 5k, and I have done 3 all together. I didn't want to sign up for any in the summer because I was worried about running in the heat.
I went from 3, to 4 miles, to 6, to 8, now I'm at 10.5. When I run outside, depending on the weather, I can do a 7:30 to 9:00 min mile. The cooler it is outside, the quicker I am.
I did not go with a training program, just went by my body. When I felt stronger, I increased the mileage. I have to say it is amazing to feel yourself get stronger. There are great training programs on runnersworld.com though.
Oh and I also do a lot of strength work as well at the gym. Strength training is important as well.
I hope this helps. If you have any other questions, please ask me.
Hey I love your siggy pic BTW!! AWESOME!
10.5 miles period is great, but your time is wonderful. How do you carry the water bottle?
I carry it in my hand lol. I got used to it, now there is no way I can run with out it lol. I also run with my phone, same hand as the water bottle, my GU goes in my sports bra, LOL!!!!!!!!! When I run the half, I will be the crazy person running with a water bottle.
Congrats on the 10.5 miles!!! Yay!
Thank you so much!!
WOW!!! 10.5 miles is GREAT -- good job!!!!

Seriously, you are such a motivation for me. I am so lazy and HATE to even attempts to jog. Now, I'm wanting to try jogging. Thanks Lynn!! Now, lets just hope I don't die while I attempt it.
Btw, get ready for some awesome pics/updates next week!!! I can't believe we leave Sunday. I hope Hurricane Bill stays far, FAR away.
YAY you should so start running. You know if I lived by you I would love to help, and I would run with you. You can do it! If it's something you want to do, just put your mind to it and do it!
AHHH I know!! I can't wait! So happy for you. I just hope the storm does not hit, and cause some problems for you. I can't believe you leave on Sunday! So excited for you girl!
