I have had so much fun and learned soooo much from everyones trip reports that I wanted to start ours.
The intro's

Who:

Me--I'm the one turning 40 :), the mom, the planner, the disney obsessed woman, the fool who is running her 1st 1/2 marathon and my 5th visit to Disney :)

Hubby--he's a good sport, he's not so convinced that I can keep up the training to make the 1/2-- but he loves seeing our little girl happy, so that means he'll keep going to Disney:rotfl2: This will be his 2nd trip to Disney.

DDprincess::tinker:- Our 6 year old princess with a side of goofy and tink thrown in. She's spunky, silly and can pout like no body's business. This is her 3rd trip to Disney and she is already a Disney addict.

Why:
I turn 40 on Oct 7th:scared1:, I'm not typically the type of person who worries about age, but this birthday, well I wanted to acheive a few things before it happened. One of those things is run, yes without someone chasing me,lol. I want to do marathon, so if I'm going to kill myself, then yes I want to do it at Disney:laughing: So the wine and dine 1/2 marathon here I come.

But wait, that's not the only reason, my goofy princess wants to trick or treat with a certain mouse, hit up some waterparks, run a little bit of her own with the kids 200m dash and Mickey's 5k and run us ragged thru every park at Disney

Where:
In 2009 we stayed at POP, loved it, had a great time. On our 2010 trip we went for a short labor day weekend trip and stayed with friends at Bonnet Creek, again very nice (I missed staying on property). This time around I had to consider the race transportation from the hotel--so when Hubby got the pin code for 30/35/40, we went with a mod, Port Orleans Riverside with a water view. I wanted river view, but there were none left. I'll keep calling and see if I can upgrade to River View. I'm hoping it's a good choice and also recently read that they will start rennovations there this spring, so we might get some pixie dust and have one of those!

How:
well since this trip came about because of a little thing called a 1/2 marathon, I have alot to do between now and then. Training under the Galloway method now, working on better nutrition, etc. I have 7 months to accomplish my goals :) I can do it!

When:
Sept 24th thru Oct 4th--11 days of Disney bliss:yay:

So up next, ADR date is coming up fast, 3/28. I have the plan ready (well almost ready) I keep struggling with the Friday of the Race Expo/kids races, but hopefully I'll get it together.

Congrats on the decision to run your first half! I did my first half at the 2011 Princess with my BFF who is turning 40 this year. We had a blast and I know you will too! Good luck with the training; you have a great goal to keep you motivated.:thumbsup2
