hi-
we're probably going to end up at a value or a mod, and thus will likely not have access to a gym. I run about 5 miles a day and would hate to give that up during our trip (i am training for a race).

would i look like an idiot running the grounds? :yay:

Absolutely not. We stay at the CSR every year, and every morning when I get up and after I've showered, I walk to the Pepper Market to get DH his coffee and my cappucino and there are always people running the paths at the CSR (there's also a fitness center at the CSR).

You just can't run on roads without sidewalks. Too dangerous.

There is always somewhere to run within each resort...and no, you won't look like an idiot and you won't be alone, either. CBR, especially, is a mod with wonderful places to run. Visit DisneyRunning.com and it gives you an idea of where to run at each resort (click on "trails" at the top).

I would think that a moderate would be a bette choice for running. Carribean Beach and Coronado Springs have a lake promenade that would be great fro running. The Port Orleans complex has a running path along the Sassagoula River that is also nice. Check out the resort maps, they usually have running trails. Good luck with your training!

We walk 10 miles per day at WDW and my DH usually runs 6-7 miles 5 days per week at home, but when we're there, he doesn't run and doesn't need to. Our feet are tired and sore just from walking after a few days. I've seen one or two runners on site before, but it's not as common a sight as it is here at home.

As long as you are running politely and carefully, I don't see a problem. Just be careful of sight lines - coming around a corner full speed and finding a guest pushing a stroller, carrying two mugs of hot coffee, can spell disaster!

In a place where ADULTS wear Mouse Ears on their heads, believe me,the site of a runner in a Resort will not draw a second glance!LOL;) :)

From All Stars to CSR there is a running path - wide sidewalks that go from All Stars, cross at McD's, down to Coronado and back.

I often see people running that route in the mornings.
