Running costumes

For Wine and Dine, my friends and I are going as Wine-derness Explorers. We'll basically be dressed as Wilderness Explorers, but al of our badges will be Wine related, and we'll wear our badges and "earn" them all at Food and Wine the next day!

I'm trying to make my skirt now, but I am nowhere near a seamstress... this will be interesting.

I love this idea. Everyone should aim to become a wine-derness explorer!

I've narrowed it down to either Russell/Wilderness Explorer or a Magic Band for Jingle Jungle.

Bah!

EDIT: Nevermind. Decision made - MagicBand it is!

That will be interesting to see what you do for that! I will definitely be looking for you!

It's not super ingenious - but some of my Orlando friends did it as their MNSSHP costumes and I thought it was ADORBS. I'm about to iron my shirt and then I'll post my picture. I'm going to pair it with a black visor and cheer bow, a matching red sparkle skirt and black capris.

@Keels - both look great! But I gotta ask ... does the MagicBand one turn green when you touch it with your MagicBand?

Saw on Twitter someone dressed up as a magic and for the Halloween party.

@Keels You pop out those costumes so fast. I have to look into getting one of the machines you use. I love the magic band and the drinking team costume but I have to ask, is the 15 for the year or does it hold a different significance?

Love the drinking team shirt. Are you going to be wearing an outfit for the Cocoa Beach Half in 2 weeks?

You could make the MB shirt light up with some EL Tape.

Nah. It's just for the year!

No outfit for Cocoa Beach. I'll probably wear Rangers stuff if they're still in the playoffs, otherwise it'll just be regular running attire for that race. I don't usually dress up, except for at Disney.

As for the MagicBand shirt, I'm thinking about going over the white with some glow-in-the-dark paint. It'll light up for a while, but not very long.

Ok I'm struggling a bit. I'm signed up for the full in Jan and was thinking about dressing like Sorcerer Mickey, but I'm leery about the sleeves. I have an idea that involves a short, swing skirt, gold rope belt, etc. but I'm not sure weather-wise what to do for sleeve length/style. Anyone want to chime in with their thoughts?

Removable sleeves? lol I hear it can be pretty cold for that race, especially at the start, but that's a lot of miles and you will want to be comfortable. I'm signed up for the half, so I'm worried about the same.

If you are running the full, I would suggest a very comfortable running shirt and then add arm warmers/ compression sleeves in a matching color. You can make the arm warmers out of socks. If you want a loose fitting arm, maybe repurpose kids pants or similar by chopping off the legs and adding a band of elastic. With the sleeves seperate, you can ditch them during the run if you get too hot or they start to annoy you.

Have a great race. -- Suzanne
