I want to run in a Tinkerbell outfit for the Wine and Dine relay!! I'm so excited, that would so make my night!!

I saw pics from the Princess and there were a lot of "costumes".......are there specific running costumes out there? I would imagine the sequines and tulle and lace are distracting while running! Can anyone offer some advice please?

I haven't run any of the half marathons in a costume, but I have added some flair I guess you'd say to my Princess outfit.

I wore a shirt that said "I thought they said rum", which was a big hit with the pirates. I also got a mickey ears hat they were selling for the event and just wore that with it. So pretty much, the hat was my costume.

There are some pretty interesting costumes out there. I remember one girl who ran was Rapunzel and had the chameleon tangled into her hair... it was pretty cool.

I do hear a lot of talk about Team Sparkle although I've never tried them. I might for the next Princess Half I'm doing, but that has yet to be decided...

Great idea for a thread! I'd been toying around with coming up with something, then found out that I'll be 12 weeks pregnant at the race. So, I'm not really sure what my body will be like, or if I can even run, so my costume making motivation has subsided a little!

Team Sparkle has some great ideas with their skirts. The skirts are VERY lightweight and kind of sheer, so made to be worn over something. I wore one last year during the princess....great product for a little flair. Check out their website. I think their facebook page has all the suggestions.

I second the sparkle shirts and balancing act shirts. I have both and love them both! I will be doing a giveaway sponsered by each company on my blog (see below). The sparkle shirt giveaway starts Sunday! For my Princess half costume, I will be wearing a pink sparkle shirt and a tech shirt from balancing act. The shirt has a really cute, pink princess dress on it. It will be my first "big" race and I am beyond excited!

The only thing to keep in mind for W&D is the obvious--it will probably be hot. Last year we were so lucky with the weather--really I thought it was about as good as we could hope for, and folks were still very unhappy about the heat/high humidity. There was not a dry inch on me when we finished. We were at WDW the year before on the same weekend and I thought the temps were so much worse, so we weren't complaining about last year. We ran the race beside someone in a snow white costume for a while, and all I could think is--I'd be stripping down!:thumbsup2 I say go for it--there will be other people dressed up, but in this case, I'd say less is better.:goodvibes

I ended up getting the Tinkerbell wing shirt from Balancing Act, and a green tutu from Razzy roo!!! I'll be sure to post pics asap!

Good luck at the race! Balancing act makes great shirts. I have the exact one you ordered. I just got a pair of fairy wings last night at my Dollar Tree in Tink green to wear at the Tink half. I also wanted to let everyone know I am doing a SparkleShirt! giveaway on my blog right now. I can't wait to see your pics!
