Hello all!

I am looking into creating a run group filled with people who love Disney but also tackle disabilities.
I have Cystic Fibrosis and throughout this year i've been dealing with a lot of lung failure problems. I was inspired to create a group like this after I attended the tinkerbell weekend this year but got extremely sick and was not able to finish the 10k.
I had found a way to coach myself through the weekend and I wasn't even a little bit disappointed. I would love to help others over come different obstacles with training tips and just general support.\

When you have a disability it can be hard to find a training schedule designed for you and not being able to follow the average training schedule can discouraging.
I can't promise perfect tips for every person but I can guarantee support and a great time!

I am looking into creating a run group through disney to hold registration spots for the runs! The first run i'm inquiring them about is the 2016 Tinkerbell half weekend, and I'll also be bidding for Disneyland Half marathon weekend registrations.

Disney World is a little trickier I have to guarantee so many hotel reservations there, but it's my hope to have a group at every run in the future!

If you are interested in a group like this please let me know!
We're all about creating joy and making magic!

I've been watching this for a while. I want to "work up" to completing a one mile fun run. For most people this wouldn't be anything, but I've got spasticity-can't walk without a cane and eventually I'll probably need a wheelchair. What's even more frustrating is that DH is training for the Dopey in January so my walking challenges are really hard for me to deal with. I used to do 5Ks, but that was many, many years ago. It's embarrassing to say it would be a real success for me to complete a mile, but maybe here y'all will understand.

No embarrassment at all! Every step is an accomplishment :)
Right now i'm tackling lung failure and the most important thing and the hardest part is knowing that even if you don't complete your big goal those steps you have already taken are still an accomplishment!

I was registered for the Pixie Dust challenge this year and i spent about 3 weeks in the hospital before hand working my body off oxygen and i used the time in the hospital to retrain for the 5k. I hadn't been able to even walk before I was admitted. I was able to complete the neverland 5k tinker bell weekend, but i don't made it through half of the 10k and zero of the half. I thought i would be really disappointed in myself but it's better to know when to stop then to push yourself to far :)
If you still enjoy walking you can still do it, just don't be so hard on yourself.
