Run Now! It’s Wine 0’Clock in WDW…Cupcakes Gone W&D16

Japan?? Ugh...I have never gotten anything from there. I am not a big sushi person, so I might have to stick with the sno-cone thing.

Ooh, Japan! I'm a big sushi fan, but I'd probably go with a vegetable roll because the idea of eating raw fish outside in the heat in Epcot weirds me out a bit.
While I am willing to look at the candy ... I'm not trying any of that stuff. I don't do weird candy.

Japan!

I love Japan!

Teriyaki Gyoza Bun

We also tend to buy a lot of candy there...

That bun thingy looks AMAZING!

I live in a very cultural part of my city...to the South 8 blocks is lots of Mexican Markets, to the east a few blocks Asian markets...and recently to the east lots of Middle East/Africian...so nothing surprises me and my kids love all the candies!

But, but, but...I love Poki sticks! Or at least my inner fiver year old does. I also love the Hi-Chew candies that @Dis_Yoda posted. I love looking at everything at the Japanese shop. I have been to Japan so some of the treats I'm familiar with. But I'm not super adventurous at that cost!

Might try this? I'm not a huge sushi person and I don't think we had anything at the Japanese booth last year.

I don't do raw fish either...the sushi I picked out is made with Tempra Shrimp...I LIKE ALL MY FOOD DEEP FRIED, its a southern carny thing. LOL

And look at all you passing up these fine treats...

Maybe we can compromise and go with...

Although my son had green tea poki sticks...give me the candy coated bees in the first picture! :crazy2::crazy2::crazy2::crazy2::crazy2::crazy2::crazy2::crazy2::crazy2:

Raw Fish is good but I'm picky about where I get raw fish. I've done sushi before at Tokyo Dining and was really pleased!

It’s 5 O’clock Friday
in Japan

ONLY 27 MORE FRIDAYS!

In order to pass the time away, instead of Cupcake Friday’s we are going to take a look at cocktails around the world…since we are partly fueled by cocktails. Maybe we can find them a little more readily then the cupcake disappointment we experienced on our PHM Cupcake Crawl! Following in line with Whet your Appetite Wednesday, let’s begin to focus on F&W and our Eat & Drink Crawl around the World that we are planning for Sunday after the race (Rules and Logistics to come later).

So bartender...

Pour me somethin' tall an' strong;
Make it a Pineapple Fuzed Sake

It's only half-past twelve but I don't care.
It's five o'clock somewhere.

I have never had Sake but when in Rome (errr Japan) do as the Japanese do…

And get a little bit of fruit in at the same time, and call it a healthy drink!

What are you having?

Japan has this really cool beer as its Frozen! Kirin tastes so much better Frozen and it will stay cold for at least 30 minutes in the hot sun!

My husband loves it too ;)

Maybe I'll get adventurous and try some Japanese soda but more than likely I'll just stick with some soda or ice tea.

I don't do raw fish either...the sushi I picked out is made with Tempra Shrimp...I LIKE ALL MY FOOD DEEP FRIED, its a southern carny thing. LOL

I guess I could do Tempura Shrimp. Deep fried is definitely preferable to raw! ;)

For drinks I'm not sure. I'm intrigued by the Pineapple Sake, but had a bad sake experience once upon a time. I Might have to stick with frozen beer.

My first instinct is to be boring and go with Sapporo (which is basically synonymous with "Japanese Beer" in my head after an event I once helped plan where I was asked to figure out if they make Japanese beer ... that was an interesting conversation). Maybe I'll be a little fun and try Pineapple Fuzed Sake. I'm really not a big pineapple person, but it might be a good introduction to sake for me.

Fried tempura shrimp could have me rethink that sushi.

I have never had sake, but I do like pineapple, so probably that.

ADR Preview & Game

I can hardly believe that when we started thinking about this trip it was over 450 days away and now we are ready to make our ADRs in less than a week (6 days as a matter of fact)!

Most of this trip is going to be centered around

000.jpg

00.jpg

And learning from my first trip to Food & Wine, we are going to allow for lots of grazing and drinking instead of a lot of tummy filling table services so we can enjoy all the great things available.

Now for the remaining meals, let’s play a game! And yes I will have a prize for who can guess the most correct (Buffy, Debra, Kafi, and Amy H) are not allowed to play!

Part 1: Based on the pictures where are we (Debra, Amy H, Kafi, & Buffy) planning in making our ADRs at?

Part 2: Based on where you think we are making our ADRs at, what is 1 thing you think I will be ordering (drinks not included)?

Make your predictions in a post and we will see who can get the most correct!
And remember there is a prize for the most correct!

Sigh if I just liked beer...I love frozen butter beer, whoops wrong theme park.

Maybe I'll get adventurous and try some Japanese soda but more than likely I'll just stick with some soda or ice tea.

I would hope that you could get tea in Japan!!!

I guess I could do Tempura Shrimp. Deep fried is definitely preferable to raw! ;)

Bad sake experience...has to be a story behind this!

My first instinct is to be boring and go with Sapporo (which is basically synonymous with "Japanese Beer" in my head after an event I once helped plan where I was asked to figure out if they make Japanese beer ... that was an interesting conversation). Why to I think there is another story in this...

You girls must read details better...tempura (ie. FRIED). Wonder if they make dole whip sake?

Okay, I am terrible at games. And I've only been to like 5 restaurants at WDW, so I really can't even begin to guess. I'm going to sit this one out.
#7 is definitely BOG, and I'm gonna guess that you're ordering the gray stuff.

Why to I think there is another story in this...

No story, just life at my old job. Basically, this is how the conversation went:
Guy in Charge: I think I'm going to make sushi for this event. We should serve sake and some kind of beer. Do they drink beer in Japan?
Me: I don't know, but I can look it up.
*a little later*
Guy in Charge: Why are you looking at a website for Sapporo?
Me: Because you asked me to research Japanese beer.
Guy in Charge: Oh, I decided not to make sushi. We'll just serve wine and regular beer.
Yeah, this is actually how some days at my old job went. It was always nice to not be told when we were changing the theme of an event.

She is still hoping for a long weekend...so I am never counting her out and making ADRs that include her. I need my stepsista like you need your tweedle.

That would be so awesome if she is able to make it! Fingers crossed!!! We all need our Disney doubles!

I think Melissa got it (the food). I couldn't place #1 & #5. I think she's right......
