RUN don't walk away form MK evening EMH!!!!

You had to pay and there was a limit of 5000 tickets. We did an E-night in June 2004 and really enjoyed it. We tried an MK EMH night this June and left very soon after it started. We went out as the 11:00 pm Spectro was going down Main St--I was amazed :scared1: at the number of people following the parade into the park.

We did E Ride Nights in June 2004 too! It was like having the park to yourself! It was about $11 per person and they only sold a limited # of tickets. And they also didn't 'promote' it, so not too many people even knew about it. You had to ask about it at the front desk of your resort.

We were there that night and it was the most crowded I've ever seen MK.

I'd gladly pay for E-Nights, which limits entrance to 5000 (I think). EMH was absolutely packed and the wait for rides was pretty much the same as it usually is.

We went in early June and vowed never again. It was the only negative thing from our trip. We were there from June 5-11 and I don't recall which night it was. We had the same awful experience and left at 11:30 pm and came back at opening the next morning for a much better experience. MK is such a zoo that I only like to go when it first opens and leave by lunch. I'd love to go at a less busy time of the year but with children and school it isn't possible.

We will not be doing any night-time EMH.
Ditto for us!! Our DD is only seven and those hours are too late for her (and for me) anyway. WOW! ::yes::

Less than 24hrs to go!

Wow!... At the end of April we did EMH at MK. I would say that the first hour was crowded but after that it thinned out nicely. We stayed until about midnight.

Right after the fireworks ended we got on HM with little wait (5 minutes). When we got off the ride the wait was well over 30 minutes. We went back to Fantasyland and hit a couple of ride. Philharmagic we waited about 20 minutes (one show cycle I guess). When we headed over toward Frontierland, HM was back dow to minimal wait and I think SM was close to a walk on. Overall not too bad.

Are they doing two showings of spectro along with these EMH's? I wonder if people are going to the nightly shows at either MGM or Epcot and then heading over to MK and catching spectro.

Nothing like E-ticket night IMHO--just because less tickets were available. The cost was nominal for an extrra evening packed with fun. The EMH is so over crowded--I've never seen as many people entering the park as trying to leave at the same time as 11pm on July 15th. I'm not really certain that having Fantasy Land open is the cause--I just think it is people withthe non-park hopping option trying to get the maximum number of hours in a park--seeing it as value for dollar. Personally I count my value per dolloar in number of rides I get, not number of hours I spend waiting in line. We really found that if we got to a park by opening and had a plan we were able to get 50-75% of the rides and attractions we wanted in about 4 hours. This worked well at both MK and MGM. In addition I'm sure many of those with the infants in park at 2AM had difficulty getting up and around in the early AM.

I hate that you had such a horrible time at EMH in the evening at MK. Sounds like you encountered lots of rude people and that was the main problem. We were there on 7/8 and we absolutely loved it - couldn't have had a better time. Saw some stupid, rude people but nothing like what you encountered. It wasn't empty, that's for sure, but honestly we got on everything we wanted with very little wait. We rode Big Thunder with about a 10 minute wait, Splash Mountain was about a 45 minute wait but we had a fastpass, Space Mountain was about 10 minutes, we had no problems whatsoever. It was the most magical evening of our vacation.

Rude people can ruin it for you that's for sure.

We arrived at the MK EMH on July 18th at 12:02 am - and it was packed! Apparently they do another parade for late night visitors, and people were all over the place.

Another problem we had, or I guess I should say I had was that I was dying of thirst after just coming from a duran duran concert and screaming all night and there were no sidewalk vendors open anywhere I could see. We walked all over the place and couldn't find anywhere to get a drink or food, and finally someone told me Pecos Bills was open - but we were in fantasyland, and we finally gave up on trying to ride anything else ( we rode Pirates and haunted mansion) and went theough the crowd at the castle after the parade and saw one lone vendor with popcorn and bottled drinks! I was so happy to see him!

And it was challenging to get there because we drove in to the parking lot at 11:30ish, the boat wasn't taking people across, the monorail was blocked off, exit only, so we had to use the resort monorail both ways. I know EMH is for resort guests, and most peple would be on the buses or resort monorail, but some of us like to drive! :)

We are heading to WDW Nov 27th- Dec 4th and I was wondering do you think it will be as crazy as it is right now?

EMH at the MK on Friday, July 16th was a nightmare. The crowds were unbelievable. My kids said after that they were done with Disney for ever! (what I really couldn't believe was how long the lines were for the lesser attractions.) My older son stayed with some friends till the end and he said it did not get better until about 1:30. NEVER AGAIN!

We were in WDW and at the advise of others on the Dis I planned specifically to avoid EMH evening parks. We went to EMH morning parks and for example at Epcot we did TT 3 times, Soaring 2x, ect. It was fantastic! We then had lunch and left the park because it did start getting packed.

My DS really wanted to ride MS at Epcot so I considered taking him to EMH at Epcot one evening but decided at the last minute against it and to go to regular entry the next morning instead. I am so glad I made that decision as my DS and I walked on to MS and TT.

I was told my several different families on separate ocassions that the wait for Soaring at Epcot on the EMH evening was 180 minutes  Definitely glad we avoid that one!

Yasuern, I feel for you. When I was at Disney between July 1 and July 15 the parks were insanely packed with massive amounts of hot sweaty crabby people. The only problems we had were for parades/nightly shows and even then it was really mostly with teens or kids who didn't have any better sense. We found if you twitched 1/4 inch someone would shove you out of the way and take your spot. OK, a little exaggeration but not much. For the most part people made some small effort to be polite. That crowd at Seaworld on July 16 was just way beyond stupid rude - so maybe you got them!

YUCH to EMH at MK.

I sometimes wonder if they just let everyone stay on.

We hightailed it out of there and went back the next morning.
If I had to deal with those crowds every day and night I would never go back to Disney
we went 3rd week june

I didn't even finish reading all the posts when I had to reply.....

The best thing to do...... is to go to the park the morning AFTER there is an evening EMH! ::yes::
It worked perfect for us!!!

2 things will happen.....those that went to that park the night before are way too tired to do any park early in the am.
And ..... others that were able to get up early head to the park with the morning EMH which is never the same park!!!

We did evening EMH at MK the first night we were there and BIG mistake.....then came up with this plan.....
and OMG...... :jumping1: NO crowds hardly at all!!

We are staying off site , so can you tell me how the EMH in the evening work, do they hoard everyone out and then let people back in... or are they identified and those of us who are not are instructed when to leave??????

:flower: We were at WDW for the last 2 weeks and also went to EMH at night. I agree with WVParkFan. If you have a plan there is no problem. We went into the park that night at 11pm and there was no one else on the bus. We proceeded to the front entrance and everyone,I mean everyone, was leaving the park. I had to ask the security guard if it was late night because of them all leaving. We then went into the park and it was busy but not crazy. We stayed until 2am riding our favorite rides with very little wait. We rode TMRR 5 times in a row just by walking straight to the vehicles with no waits.

We were there at the same time and a blast. :jumping1:

I am leaving Friday and my plans include going to EMH Evening Parks the morning after and to non EMH parks in the evening. Is this going to work out well? Any other tips please would be welcome.

We did EMH at MK twice, Friday July 8th and 15th. The first time we stayed to close and the second to about 1 am. We found that the crowds did get smaller as the night wore on. We rode rides all over the park with waits of no longer than 20 minutes including BTMR.

I think if you go anytime during July, you are going to run into crowds so prepare for it. I would certainly go back for EMH. There is just something cool about being in the park late at night.

Onsite resort guests are allowed to pick up wristbands at designated spots in the EMH park within 2 hours or less of that evening's EMH. People are asked to show their room keys as proof they're staying onsite in order to receive wristbands. To ride EMH rides, those people are supposedly asked to show these wristbands at ride entrances. I suppose one could get away with hanging around the park during EMH without a wristband, but you wouldn't be able to ride any of the rides.
