Rumors that Disney is in negotiations to sell Star Wars back to George Lucas!

I don’t know why we keep having the same arguments instead of talking about the Star Wars stuff we like (or having nuanced discussions about content that missed the mark for us).

Top 5 Star Wars moments since the Disney sale! I’ll go first. :)

1. Everything in the lead up to TFA, especially the first teaser at Celebration. Hearing Luke say “the force is strong with my family” sent shivers down my spine. It was an amazing time to be a fan.

2. Season 2 finale of Mando, for obvious reasons. My husband started filming me as soon as the X-wing showed up and I’m so glad he did because it’s one of my favorite videos ever. I scared my one year old screaming so loud, haha.

3. Owen telling Reva “he is my own.” As a long time Owen Lars stan, this made me fist pump.

4. Luke and Leia training together in TRoS. I don’t care about the rest of the movie. I’ve wanted to see Luke training Leia since I first read Heir to the Empire in 1992 and I gasped with happy tears when I realized what I was seeing. (It didn’t help that I was 6 days post pardum ar the time.)

5. The reveal of Thrawn in the Rebels trailer at Celebration 2016. I was texting my friend updates because he was out of the country with unreliable internet and couldn’t steam the panel. As soon as I saw Thrawn, I lost it and started texting him in all caps “THRAWN THRAWN THRAWN!!!” And then they announced that Zahn had written a new book and I yelled “TIM ZAHN YOU ARE A DIRTY LIAR!” (A note that Tim Zahn in fact never lies, he just omits the truth. Never, ever play poker with him.)
there are a lot. Many are tied to visits to WDW. I always loved Star Wars, but Disney buying it, building the lands in the Parks.... adding more content movies, streaming etc.... has sent me over the moon.

I dont know about a 'top 5'... but a few that come to mind... The (semi) final battle between Vader and Obi Wan in the streaming Obi Wan series and their interaction... the red/blue light interplay on their faces and Obi Wan's heartbreak was so satisfying to watch.... lightsaber duels have gotten better and better since the 'old man match up' between Vader and Obi Wan in a New Hope. The special effects, stunt actors and choreography have made those so good.

Seeing Han and Chewie together again in the Falcon...combined with the first time I got to go to Galaxy's Edge and walking into the waiting area of Smuggler's Run and sitting at THE chess table.

Riding RISE and walking into the Stormtrooper room...

You get a 2 for 1.

I know it's "fan reaching", but when they stop and feel the force-Luke also felt Grogu calling him, hence the end of Mando 2 battle/rescue.

Oh yeah - I've done that back to back. Literally seconds pass between Rogue One and A New hope.

Took my son to R1 (an OT fan) and he was a bit bored, even wanted to hit the restroom right towards the end. Forced (no pun) him to wait-the look on his face was so fun to see. Weve watched that end so many times and into A New Hope.

My favorite things pertaining to Disneyfied Star Wars:

  1. End of Season 2 Mando that broke the internet
  2. Rogue One, it was just so incredibly well done
  3. Season 1 of Mando and feeling like finally somebody (Favreau) gets what Star Wars really is
  4. The Force Awakens, I really liked it and saw the potential of what was to come
That's it for me, can't think of a 5th.

My least favorite things pertaining to Disneyfied Star Wars:

  1. Rian Johnson deconstructing Luke Skywalker as a hero
  2. Rey being a massive Mary Sue in the Disney ST, and taking the Skywalker name in the end
  3. Book of Boba Fett and the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers
  4. ObiWan all of it, but especially the cannon breaking high adventures with Leia
  5. Jack Black and Lizzo looking like ridiculous fan fiction in season 3 of Mando

Probably because he's a SAG and WGA member. Both are on strike. A whole lot of content is getting shelved for a bit.
Maybe so, but rumor is he is done with Star Wars all together, and not just due to the strike. I for one hope this is not
true.

He seemed to "get" the original creator's vision for Star Wars like very few others currently involved seem to.

Really? Considering how much everyone dogs on Season 3, I wouldn't think it would be such a big deal.

Oh, that's right, when it's bad it's Kathleen Kennedy's fault, and when it's good, Jon & Dave gets all the credit.

Rumor is he was ticked off and checked out already during Season 3 filming, but I have no idea is that is true or not. Seems too convenient to explain away a bad season of Mando to me.

All I know is Favreau was responsible for the first 2 seasons of Mando, and that's the closest thing we have gotten to looking and feeling like real Star Wars again. I don't want him gone, because I prefer more of that! The OT fans were even starting to trickle back in and like Star Wars again, I am not sure anyone other than Favreau can accomplish that.

Surprised no one has mentioned the Clone Wars finale. That final arc with Ahsoka was so good. Hoping the show will turn out great.
OMG those last four episodes, were so amazing, that final scene with Vader and her saber. was so poignant. .. kinda wonder if she could have talked him back, but que sera sera. Just finished all 7 seasons of CW in a first time watch in prep for Ashoka... Now I am onto Rebels and starting season 2 today. I was in grad school and a mom, so no time for fun back then. When they were watching I was studying.

Rebels is AWESOME! I would say that overall it's better than TCW - it's more consistent anyway. TCW though, when it's great, it's really, realy great, but it has a few misfires too.

Audience for the animated Star Wars, is just so much lower than the live action stuff. It may be incredible, but it is just really hard to get most of the fan base interested in the animated work.

I love all of the characters in Rebels. It is fun to meet entities who are part of the resistance but not really part of the Skywalker saga of the movies, well at least for now, who knows what the live actions will bring, but love Hera and Chopper, they are my new favs. Season 1 was really good, excited for some more Vader and Ashoka in season 2.

Where are these rumors coming from and has that person ever gotten anything right? Do they claim KK is getting fired soon? If so, I would discount them completely.

ok why are you so negative. talk about a Debbie Downer. Do you get paid for negative comments or something? Or just get a kick out of constantly saying everything sucks?

I have to be honest. When I saw the marketing for Rebels, I rolled my eyes and said it would probably be terrible. The kid seemed whiny, the Mandalorian with the spray paint art felt contrived, it had a Jedi who amazingly avoided the purge. It didn't seem like something I would like. Boy was I so wrong and I'm glad I tuned in. I also loved the Rebels Recon show they had on YouTube with Andi Gutierrez. It was a great recap show where they dove into the storylines and had a fun questions and answer session with people like Dave Filoni and Pablo Hidalgo. They also showed a good portion of the behind the scenes at Lucasfilm. We watched it as a family every week. My youngest and I watch Bad Batch and enjoy it but it's not the same.
