Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

Following and hoping for RoL 12/9. I have a FP just waiting to change to the show... If RoL doesn't open we are still excited to see a sunset safari and maybe ride EE after dark.

Hoping maybe it starts soon for those there tonight!

Howdy Loungers!

We've moved apartments; just finished up bringing over the boxes and furniture last night. Now we begin to clean the new apartment since the previous tenant did very little. It's a little awkward since the tenant is a friend of ours.

For Halloween, we ended up handing out candy at the old apartment, since the movers took so long (triple the time expected). I was telling the kids that this was our last halloween at the address, and one family was so cute. The little boy (maybe 11ish) said, "ohh… but this is one of my favorite houses." (I give out candy, travel size play-doh and halloween themed pencils with cute erasers.) He thanked me for the treats, and on the way out he said, "have a great last halloween here." So sweet and awesome!!

I'm looking forward to figuring out where to put the trader sams tiki mugs. I think we may turn the nautilus to a bromeliad planter, but I'm not sure how I should use the uh-oa. Ideas welcome!

Hope everyone has a great week, and folks who are traveling have a magical time!

And the Cubs win the World Series!! what. a. game! I thought Cleaveland had really good coaching throughout the game, and have every reason to be very proud of their efforts. I know only one team gains the laurels, but I think accolades are very appropriate for both teams. Also… I absolutely love that Epstein, Francona and so many Red Sox players were on the teams in the World Series. Success is the best vengeance-vindication; not that they were looked for or needed it. It's simply another tangible way for the Red Sox management to have further physical evidence of their *ahem* less-than-stellar management decisions.

Anyways, congrats to the fans and players of both teams! Hootennany and hurrahs to you! :cheer2:

live outside Boston, a life long Red Sox fan and could not agree more

So ........... it's November right? Oh, yeah, I woke up in November in Disney World. :smooth: Halloween vanished overnight and Christmas appeared.

My quick WDW trip was a success for DS. He had a great time at MNSSHP on Sunday the 30th and we brought home 12 lbs of decent candy. He was so excited even though he only eats M&Ms. It's all about the experience, not the candy. We spent Halloween day at MK with a last minute catch of lunch at BOG - his request. He asks for so little I was happy to get. That night we had dinner at California Grill and watched HalloWishes from the observation deck on Halloween Night! LOVED IT! I don't think he missed Halloween Trick or Treating at home at all ... I think I've found his new tradition.

And the next day first thing he said when he woke up (and he's more or less non-verbal) was ............. MERRY CHRISTMAS! :santa:

SO........ it's NOVEMBER!

I haven't been able to find any threads, photos or videos on how ROL looked at it's projected soft openings last week .......... :confused3

@HopperFan - sounds like a wonderful trip! I bet you didn't even care that there was no RoL!

Nope, it was all about positivity :goodvibes so I didn't even think about it and stayed away from AK.

Halloween is very very important to him and he waits all year for the decor and the trick or treating. We even built a big Haunted House for many years. Small street of 25 and we let him continue to trick or treat way past the normal age (in costume) because everyone knew him. Last year was a BUST, only a few homes were there to greet him. He was so upset and didn't understand. So I decided then we would be out of town from now on.

First I decorated a little outside and a lot inside with the decor I had (I gave most the Haunted House stuff to a friend who is carrying on) and invited a small group of close family/friends for a reverse trick or treat and dinner. They all came in costume, he would answer the door and they would say trick or treat and give him goodies. He got some candy and lost of other cool treats. Great night. Next day we put all the decor away. The next weekend we headed to Disney and had a great few days of celebrating there. He has not asked at all about going around the neighborhood so I think the party and cleanup helped him let it go.

Weather and crowds were great. I was SHOCKED the MNSSHP on the 30th (sold out) was so well organized, SO MUCH better than last couple years when I was getting weary of going. Even at the end of Oct price I felt it was worth it. Such a good time, I think our annual week Sept trip will now be a Halloween trip. Hoping Club Villain still around next year and I'll add that as well - as much Villain-ry as we can for the All Hallow's Eve.

This makes me smile. And glad he loved the hallowishes from California Grill as I know you were debating what to do.

:)

To be more perfect they put us in the "new" back room that only has about 8 tables so it is much quieter than the rest of the restaurant AND our table was right next to the window which looks the opposite of the MK.

He had a view of the Orlando Eye and it kept changing colors, the I-Drive skyline and lights, the Electrical Water Pageant Parade right below us and he was so excited to watch Illuminations.

We went with our CM friend ordering a few sushi and flatbreads (all was amazing). Cute story: Server brought out the plates and chopsticks. He placed one chopstick in front of friend, one in front of me ............ looked at DS and just placed his at the end of the table. He walked away and I laughed. I told friend Haha, he can use chopsticks very well and will ask for them. So I opened and gave to him. Yup, he picked up his sushi from the platter to his plate and ate his meal with the chopsticks.

Touring Plans throwing more click bait out there. Seriously ... they have put in so many wrong dates .... stop. Leave it blank. You don't have to have any info in a placeholder, you leave the code in that box blank.

But got to love that the date is a whole new one to add the the collection .... WHEN IT OPENS IT OPENS and at that point still not even sure I'll care anymore.
