Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

Sounds like an amazing day! SUPER JEALOUS!!! :thumbsup2

Last winter I booked Club Villain the day it came out ..... with no trip on the books ......... then I booked a 9 day trip around it. Now I'm debating doing the same thing. I would LOVE to do it Halloween night, so tempting! I wonder if they will let everyone dress up that night. If they do release the discounts, at least last spring they refunded the difference to those who had already booked.

Edit: Oh my, I'm sitting here looking at rooms for Halloween (great price for Sun & Mon) and CV .......... and I feel like I'm crazy for doing it. Already planned to leave town for Halloween ........ even though my fav holiday.

Sounds like you should go for it! ;) CV on Halloween will be amazing! I would have chosen that one if I hadn't already bought our MNSSHP tickets for 10/2.

All that planning chaos in May and June was how we all met so I will give Disney props for that. I had more fun stalking the blog than I had had in a long time. Its crazy that things are still not fixed. But I still enjoy all of you!

Agree, agree - I almost (ducking) glad it was a disaster because all the banter and therapy in the Lounge has at times been the highlight of a slow or bad day. Certainly beats turning on the tv. But I'm beginning to feel pretty sure that it's not "crazy it's not fixed" but Disney is "crazy brilliant" and it dragging this thing out on purpose. So many pieces and news tidbits just don't gel. Maybe it's for Spring 2017 so that when Avatarland is going in for more money to finish out, they have a back up offer.

And let's not forget about what a wonderful resource our favorite CM, Maggie, was....

Thinking maybe she has gone in to the CM Protection Program. :tiptoe:

What is this "Blaze" you speak of? Is it a Disney thing? Universal?

http://www.blazepizza.com/

In May (when it was supposed to open) it still had ways to go but it's right on a spring at Disney Springs, looks like it will have a deck over the water.

:offtopic: Not that we have topics but has anybody heard anything about the opening of Blaze? I need something new to stalk

I am so in when that opens. I've already decided after our last trip that as many meals as possible will be at Disney Springs, not park food. I think it's running late.

Trivia: Did you know that this is a LeBron James investment?

Just sent them a message. They said they don't have an exact date but they are hoping THIS MONTH! It's still July right .......... woot, BLAZE PIZZA in August for me. :cool1::cool1::cool1:
THNX keeping my fingers crossed. I'll be Orlando for a bit over 3 weeks in August so I'll keep stalking.

I'd never heard of Blaze pizza, but custom wood-fired pizzas sound awesome! A great pizza place will be a welcome addition, that's something Disney Springs doesn't have right now.

We went for dinner at Disney Springs Monday night and for the life of me I can't remember the name of the restaurant. It was new, I think it had Florida in the title, and it was fantastic. It was simple Southern food and drinks and everything was so tasty. DH got fried chicken and donuts, which he raved about, and my shrimp and grits were delicious. I also got a drink made with moonshine and watermelon that was really refreshing. The atmosphere was great, relaxed with some great country music playing (I'm really not much of a country music girl, but it fit the setting). I would definitely recommend it, or at least I would if I could remember the name!

I really wonder how some of the high end stores are going to turn a profit. I was in Lily Pulitzer for about 30 minutes (Grayson was thrilled...) and no one else even came in. I bought a couple of things and I got the impression I was one of very few who had actually bought something that day. I can imagine the rent is quite high, and I'm just not sure the clientele is there. It'll be interesting to see if that area is a success.

You were at Home Coming. I'm not sure how the high end stuff is going to do either. We have some DS time scheduled in but mostly just planning on going to the Marketplace area. Maybe we might venture and look, like I said maybe

I am very much thinking of booking Homecoming for our DS evening. And I, too, wouldn't be spending time or money in the high end stores. Just not enough time to "play" around. We'll do the usual Lego Store, World of Disney, once upon a toy type stores and that's about it. We are only planning to spend arrival day evening there.

Getting closer ... finally got Garden Grocer order done last night. (Note to Self: Do it earlier next time to get the 5% discount at least!)

We are going to try for Homecoming on our DS night, but apparently they aren't taking reservations until August 15th (after our trip), so here's hoping we can get in as walk-ups.

We might glance in the windows at the high end shops, but doubt we would even venture in to most of them.

Last two "big" decisions I need to make are whether or not to get Memory Maker (for our Disney days) and Photo Connect (for our 2 days at Universal) ... any recommendations?

We had no problem walking into Homecoming (I had no idea that was the name, apparently I just walked through the door without looking) at 6pm on a Monday night. There are so many places to eat down there now with all the new restaurants and food stands and snack places, nowhere seemed super crowded. I didn't venture down towards T-Rex or Rainforest though, that area might still be a zoo.
