Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

:wave2:And to you as well. Yes, I've been trying to catch up... Sounds like Jungle Book is not getting good reviews, baby ROLF (excuse me - I'm forgetting his *actual* name!) is adorable! and nothing new on ROL. What am I missing?
I think that about wraps it up. There is still a fiasco in the mornings for those trying book ADRs along side those trying to get FP+s....system is very "iffy".....but that's really nothing new.

Yes, I remember seeing that! Is it just overloading the system? That's a pain!
well, in my opinion it's too much for the system to handle, but that's just what I've experienced. I got to the party late (by 15 minutes) to book my ADRs for our "after Thanksgiving trip" and had all sorts of issues - got real tired of the cute little error messages. Finally called in, and there was a 45 minute wait. I didn't wait on hold, but tried again about an hour later and was able to get through fairly quickly. BUT some of the ADRs I wanted were already gone, of course. I'll keep on top of it, since I know many just grab up everything they think they might need, and once their plans before more firm, they release what they can't use. And I'll be there like a vulture just waiting to scoop up the ones I want...

Tomorrow we get a new air conditioning unit put in, Friday we leave, and Saturday we arrive at Disney!!

I have a FP for JB and am still looking for a dining pkg only bc we are already eating at TH anyway and we are on the dining plan....but I may bail on the show. We'll probably check it out at least, though. Leave in the middle if we need to with my two under five....

Great plan! Its worth just to check it out, I didnt want to sit and watch it but felt the need to take a look

Let's see I made a set of mouse ears yesterday and started putting outfits together. I cancelled our Tiffins package and replaced it with TH for our second AK night, still holding out hope for ROL in August:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:Last day of school is tomorrow between no snow days and a construction project my kids are getting out 2 weeks early this year:crazy2: We'll still have almost 2 months until our trip and I'm sure my kids will drive me:crazy:

That's awesome! I'm on the prowl for beautiful Rapunzel mouse ears for my Disneybound costume for MNSSHP. Really want to grab a pair from Oh Yeah Disney! but their shop is forever closed. They get a lot of orders so quickly, I can never catch the shop being open on time! :(

Love the visual! That's so frustrating! Although I have the utmost confidence in your vulture abilities - I have no doubt you'll have it all worked out by your trip!

For anyone going next week(I get there on Thursday) - not trying to alarm anyone but wanted to make sure you are aware that there is a chance for a disturbance in the Gulf of Mexcio that might become a tropical storm and produce a lot of rain. Right now predictions are it hitting FL somewhere between Tampa and Maimi but once it gets into the Gulf anything can happen so it is best to keep a watch on the weather. Disney will let all guests know if anything significant is going to hit the area. Below is a link to the National Hurricane Center.

Our JB FP+ and Animal Kingdom night in general got rained out. :'( We did catch safari right at sunset and it was almost perfect, approx 8:20! I think 15 minutes earlier would have been perfect.

Just in case it hasn't been posted, the safar girl described Jungle Book as a summer-exclusive show. Unfortunately we won't be back this summer so won't have an opportunity to see it

All thoughts aside on the show, whatever it is now, fall, winter .....

How is it that no thought was given to the loading/unloading of this theater? They truly built a 5000 seat theater into the banks of a waterway with somewhat limited access, but built no type of queues. Look at Nemo and FOTLK, queues are important. So folks are just filling the walkways with humanity..... Seems like they need to build queues back into the side spaces of Nemo, using the outdoor Nemo space and find some way to add a queue next to Everest queue. Imagine how bad it will be once RoL comes around and when everyone finds out this park is open late, am sure there are plenty who have no idea.

@HopperFan ... agree they need to find better ways to queue people for the show. Crowding that many people onto the walkways and (I presume, blocking / stopping pedestrian traffic) is a bad scene just waiting to happen.

Agree. This area of the park is essentially a dead end made of a huge loop around the water. I know that there are plenty of gates Disney could open to back stage in an emergency .... but most will only think about they have to get over the bridge at Dinoland or the bridge at Yak & Yeti to get out. If the walk ways have this many people blocking them .... it could result in some chaos, if nothing else from misunderstandings as to where people are trying to go. Until now these walks were always open and uncrowded. I'd rather there be set queue areas off the walkways for those waiting for shows since these waits are likely to be long.

Wow! That is a mess - need to keep this in mind when going to AK. I agree @HopperFan, can't believe Disney in all their experience didn't foresee an issue with lines for this theater.

We ate at Tiffins and went to JB on Wednesday night. I personally did not hate the show. I was entertained. It was worth checking out if you have a fp or dining package. I am not sure I would wait hours in line in the hot sun to see it. Fyi- Tiffins was amazing. Pics to follow.... appetizers. Lobster curry soup and marinated octopus.
