Is there anything more pathetic than checking your lines app from your kitchen when you get home? Sigh...
Got home last night and did the same thing!
10 days in the world, such a fabulous trip, even without ROL. Several CM comments on my ROL magic band, they all laughed when I explained. I talked to one check-in CM who was hoping it would open before she has to leave in August.

I wore my shirt for the Darkside Half, and in the last mile, someone yelled out "Rumors of Light" - which was awesome. I was seriously hurting, and that shout out got me through the next mile.
Highlights of the trip were the SW fireworks at HS. We had only planned on seeing them once, but ended up going 4 times, including on our last night. If you are there now, definitely don't miss them, even if you aren't a star wars fan - they are fabulous! My DD6 used her own money to buy a Princess Leia dress at Hollywood Studios and got so much attention from it that she then wore it every day (with a double bun hairstyle). We even had someone stop us in Epcot so they could have a picture with her.
Reentry to real life is hard. DD9 was crying last night because she wanted to go back to Disney. I told her I felt the same way, and that I get over it by working on planning the next trip, and asked if she wanted to help me. Luckily we are going back in August, and there will be some new things to experience so she can get excited about that. When I asked her what she liked most about it, she said that we all go to do things together as a family.

It was a really special trip.
I also figured out a strategy for getting/changing last minute 'hard to get' fast passes. Here was the situation: Saturday morning, I am up about 8am, but we have a relaxing morning planned, and then we had planned to go to Magic Kingdom that evening. But everyone decides that they would rather go to HS to see the SW fireworks one more time.... ok, but I have NO FP's for HS, I had them all for MK. So I go and cancel my MK FP's, and figure I will try and get some of the tier 2 stuff at HS. So I select Tier 1 for Beauty and the Beast (since we hadn't seen it), as well as Star Tours and Tower of Terror (which still had some evening availability). Then I start fussing with my tier 1 options. In the app, I click "modify" and select just 1 person. Then I keep hitting refresh, looking for a toy story FP. After about 2 minutes of constant refreshing, one pops up, but it's for the wrong time... I take it anyway, and then go back to trying to change it with my "modify/refresh" strategy. About 2 minutes later one pops up for the time I want. I repeat this procedure for eveyone in my party (5 of us). Within a half hour, I had 5 overlapping toy-story fast passes, that gave us a 30 minute window where we could all ride together.

Fast forward to that evening - we've done all our FP's, and DD6 and DD9 tried ToT for the first time and loved it, and now want another FP. It is 6:00pm, and the park is crowded. ToT standby is at 70 minutes. As we sit down to eat dinner (QS), I start looking for a 4th FP for ToT. Within 15 minutes of using my one-person-at-a-time modify/refresh strategy, I found us all 8:00 ToT fast passes.

My kids couldn't believe it. Perfect way to end a HS day.
I hope everyone there now, and with upcoming summer trips have as magical experience as we did.

As always, we can't wait to go back! DH even mentioned possibly buying DVC.... My parents are DVC, and we usually go on their points, but I would LOVE to have points of our own. It's never been in the cards before, but if a few business things go right over the next couple of months, it might be!
